It seems to me that there is not a problem here, but I can say C may result in E only on occasion, possible randomness factor!.

This is the only relevant thing I can say here!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can say C: "drinking poison" causes E: "death"!. Such statement is true, but it also depends on how much poison is taken!.

When you say event C causes E, you should mean the statement is true under all circumstances!. When you say that event C happens and event E may not happen, you are contradicting yourself!. In formal logic, you would have to define what you mean by C and E!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if c and e are the only two factors then i dont see it
but if there is another factor then it is highly possible
example:
go faster than speed limit and you get a speeding ticket!.
C speeding
E ticket
how ever
if
D= police officer
is not present
then c does not cause e
hope i made this clear

Maybe event C has multiple causes!. Like a keyboard!. If you press "C" the keyboard caused it, but it can also cause "D" and "E"!. And so even when the keyboard "happens" it is possible that it doesn't have to cause E, but E can only happen from cause keyboard!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hmm, I'd say that event C causes event D, and event D causes event E!. Linking event C to event E!. But you say "it is possible that event C happens and event E doesn't!." If event E does not occur, then it doesn't exist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, if event C is someone trying to pick a fight with you and you don't respond to them and walk away you avoid event E ; the fight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The answer deserves hundred points, not ten!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
