I don't believe I've heard of anyone giving Romanticism a bad name lately!.
Beethoven's still pretty popular!. So is Chopin!.
Edgar Allan Poe was a weird guy, but he's still considered pretty talented!.
Wordsworth and Coleridge may be a little boring, but I don't think that qualifies as a "bad name"!.
Mary Shelley is more popular than ever these days, especially this close to Halloween!.

Which of the many and varied aspects of "Romanticism" are you referring to!?

This one would suggest that many romantic notions and ideals are far removed from the reality of life as it is rather than how it is often misconceived!. Such a misunderstanding leads to the suffering of many and the same might not be understood as being beneficial to ones self or to others!.

i think there is an inherent passion, sincerity and conviction in romanticism that goes against the new fashion of 'irony' and being 'cool'!.
