Not in any significant numbers!. They are a dying breed, almost extinct!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Aside from those who tackle philosophical issues in the social and natural sciences, there is certainly still a community of people in the philosophical profession!. These are primarily academics in universities -- if you take a class in philosophy you'll meet one!. If you major in it you'll meet a whole bunch!. There are also philosophers who serve on committees as ethicists and philosophers of language, mind, etc!. depending on the nature of the work!.

Unfortunately, the job market is now very oversaturated with philosophy PhD's!. The next waiter who serves you could very well have one!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't buy this "anyone who's ever thought or asked about anything is a philosopher" bit!. That's no more true than saying "anyone who has ever made a grocery list or answered a Yahoo Answers question is an author" or "anyone who has ever made toast is a gourmet chef!."

But yes, there are philosophers left!. Many of them, especially in the fields of politics and economics, but also in science, education, and religion!.

My favorite living philosopher is Jamie Whyte!. He has a great book on logical fallacies called "Bad Thoughts!."Www@QuestionHome@Com
