Question: Why am I more outgoing online than in real life!?
I really want to be more outgoing in my real life because that's what matters the most, but why am I so outgoing online!.!.!.I wish it was reversed!. When its just me I'm comfortable and fun, but when I get around others, I tend to clam up, and act really formal and boring!.

I don't want to be like this!. I want to really be more outgoing, more comfortable socially and have friends, I'm a loner now and I hate it so much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A lot of people are like that!. I'm like that!. I say things on the Internet that I hesitate to say in life!. It's natural, because you don't have to say anything split-second!. You can think about what you say!. And, if on forums or chatting, you're protected by anonymity to some degree!. It gives you the freedom to get away with more (if there's anything to get away with)!.

I'm a lot like you, honestly!. I would say, in order to be able to open up, you need a few - three or four - really solid friend in real life, that you can just speak your mind to!. The kind of people you can have sleepover and just talk to about everything!. And it might take a while to find people like that!. My mom has always said, "To have a friend, be one!." Simple, but true!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because when you are online (lacking physical presence) you have the power to portray whoever you want to be!. You have that added confidence that you don't have to worry about physical appearance and it really is mostly what you are saying and not how you look!.

Confidence is key!. It always is, and always will be!.

Here is a great quote, and really take it to heart!. Read it, reread it, and read it again until it sinks in!.

"Be who you are, and mean what you say, because the people that matter don't mind, and the people that mind don't matter!."

If you are outgoing on line than real life, and in reality you want to be out going, more comfortable socially and have friends, all you have to do so you wont be a loner, is go out and make friends,at places where young people like you meet, and do not be calm and act real formal and make sure that you do not get bord, just be your self and chat a lot and you will find that you will be out going in your life, and have a lot os friends!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are outgoing online because there is so much to explore online or in the net!. You are like that when you are in the real world because you tend to think that the world is calm and boring!. But when you get to the cyber world you tend to think that its ecstatic in there!. The world inside and the world outside is different!. I'm like that too!. But to my friends I'm not!. I'm fun around my friends!. So the solution is you go find some friends!. Have fun with them and treat them nicely!. Maybe you're an indoor-sy person!. I'm indoor-sy but when I feel like it I go outdoors!. The world is not calm and boring!. Its actually a pretty exciting place!. Have you ever heard about global warming!? Let me guess, yes, you've heard of it--in the net!. So don't be a couch potato and loosen up!. Go outside and have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's easy!. Anonymity!.

If there were a way to get really honest answers from everyone online, you might be surprised how high a percentage of people would admit exactly what you now confess!.

May I suggest to you that you take an honest assessment of yourself!. Do you have just one friend -- even a parent or other trusted adult -- who might give you some advice here!? Can you accept some constructive criticism if it is offered!?

You write quite well, and you sound like a really neat person with a lot to offer others!. That's a good start!. Bet it wouldn't take much to learn the people skills you say you wish to develop, and thus become the person you wish to be!.

The important thing is to -- carefully and wisely -- simply begin! Things get easier the more they are practiced!

Best !. !. !.

hi cassie yeah i'm sometimes like that too!. i'm willing to say anything online but i sometimes find it hard to expressed myself in public!.
but i find myself in a situation worse than you!. you see, if you always clam up then you can try to change!. but sometimes i find myself suddenly very brave, and i would be, sort of, shocked myself!. it's very hard to explain this to somebody!.
ok, last year, i was 13, in a new school, i know nobody and nobody knows me!. i was quiet (all the long) and boring, and serious without a real friend to talk to because everyone there either has a friend, or nobody like them!. then this year, i suddenly get to know 2 very good friends and they are very good to me!. and i suddenly find myself able to speak out!. i'm very puzzled too, but in my heart, i;'m still always so, so, so, smallWww@QuestionHome@Com

What inhibits one from being outgoing and diving right into any given social situation is more often than not our natural fear of being judged negatively for something we've said or done!. Online, you don't have to worry about that so much because even if someone would like to cause you serious bodily harm, chances are you'll never ever have to face them!.

Being able to say what's on your mind is a very liberating, very addictive thing!. You can do that online, but in the real world you're probably concerned that someone is going to hate or dislike you or make your life more difficult because unlike online friends, these people know you face to face, and actually -can- cause you pain or aggravation if you tick them off!.

What you've got to do is simply to learn how to use your voice!. Speak up - say what's on your mind, offer your honest opinion and stop worrying about whether or not anyone agrees with you!. If you're mature about it, you can eventually have that same kind of freedom in the real world that you have online, and you can have it without making any serious enemies over your newfound bluntness!.

Below are a few books on Amazon!.com about communication!. They might be really useful to you!. I've read the first one listed and the things I learned about communication and socializing literally changed my life!. I've not read the second one, though, but it -looks- like a useful read!.

Good luck in any case!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know what you mean, I have the same problem!.
Well we probably open up more online because it's like you can talk to anyone but you don't really know what everyone else is like and stuff!.!.!.
So you can say whatever you want and not feel embarrassed or intimidated!.!.!.
basically you feel safer behind the computer!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Let's face it!. The computer makes it easier to be ourselves without having to make ourselves presentable to others!. And online it's more about thoughts and ideas uncensored that allows us more freedom than otherwise!.

I am like you are too and enjoy solitude rather than human company!. Although I do not mind human companionship either!.

But like the first poster said!. 99% of us feel that way!. It's good to know he, you, and I are part of the silent majority!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes it is easier to talk to people who cannot see you or know you!. Most people that are not outgoing are usually unsure of themselves and online you don't have to worry about people seeing what you think are your flaws!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
