Maybe they are elderly or handicapped and can not do this work for themselves anymore, yet have the means to have someone else do this for them!.
I know I wish I had some help, but I cannot justify it!.
Others that can afford it, do hire extra help, so they can attend to more important duties!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No I don't think it's immoral!. If you aren't imprisoning and beating them, or treating them disrespectfully, it's alright!. Many times people need a service and other people have that service to give!. If a person is earning an honest living, however menial or labor intensive, there is nothing wrong with that!.

I have a friend who could USE a maid!. She's not cleaning, he's not cleaning and they won't spend the money for one!. Silly!.

I also have another friend who had quite a successful maid service business!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

All mankind serve in some form, way or another!. The president and state are the servants of the people, business serve a purpose for the masses for profit, church serves to guide and shepherd, all men in the bonds of worldliness are servile until they gain spiritually and become as leading lights sought than seeking, then they are considered masters of their destiny!. The world is a global marketplace with all peddling their wares, no matter what commodity they are bartering in lieu of a semblance of gain!. God is Supreme King and benefactor and becomes in the phase of Holy war as servant endeavouring to cleanse the world of sin and wrongdoers!. Salaried savants, paid professionals or maids all have a designated role and part to play in the great orchestra and symphony of life!.

Unfortunately society expects good saviours and peacemakers to live in rags and poverty whilst enriching subconsciously the enemies of peace, love and honour!.

Blessed, honoured, rich i spirit, inestimably wealthy be the few and precious who gain pleasure and peace in enlightening and giving to others in need!. For is they were this world would indeed be an Eden!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its because they are able to do so!.
They have the money !
They are not interested in necessary chores and prefer to pursue interest through being ambitious!.
No, I don't think it is immoral to have servants as long as they are paid enough money and are treated with respect!. In society everyone has his/her place and must serve the person above them!. It is how things work and is the common structure of society!. Without it things wouldn't function!. The structure is good, its some of the people who aren't!. If you have ever had a cruel boss you will realize this!. Of course if we all were willing to serve society openly without needing to be paid things would be great!Www@QuestionHome@Com

a maid is not a "servant"!. you make it sound like they are ancient slaves of some sort!. they are paid workers (what's sad is that in this country they actually are modern day slaves unfortunately, due to the rut their ridiculously low salary indefinitely keeps them in)!. if you want to classify them as servants, then you must classify hairdressers, gardeners, mail men, construction workers, babysitters, carpet cleaners, exterminators all servants as well!. this is of course absurd!.

people have money and would rather not clean their house!. maybe they are too busy, maybe too old, maybe holier-than-thou,!.!.who cares!. they're paying for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I used to wash my clothes once upon a time!. Then when I became a busy official, one of my friends told me that I should not be a miser and that I should try to help some body who is need of some livelihood!. He further wanted me to use the services of a washer man (dhobi)!. With the introduction of washing machine, now-a-days, the dhobis (washer men) are not getting any job and that they are idle!. They are not able to meet their both ends!. From that time I started helping the washe man by giving them my clothes for washing!.

In these difficult days of unemployment particularly in under developed countries, there is huge poverty and even educated people are willing to do any kind of job to fulfil their stomach/hunger!. In such situations, should we ourselves do as you are suggesting!? Anything in life can be viewed in different angles!. We should not see with coloured glasses!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They may be too busy, or they may just be lousy housekeepers!. The point is, domestic service is an honest and honorable profession!.
While some people do believe they are above doing "menial" work, there are lots of legitimate reasons for hiring someone else do your housework!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think its immoral because that maid may be needing this job to earn a living!
It would be immoral only when you don't treat her with respect!
Everyone should just be appreciated and valued for their work and that's the prime principle of morality according to me!Www@QuestionHome@Com

it's because they have the money to have other people do it!. i think it isn't immoral if you do not do anything bad to your "servant" and treat him/her as a "close friend" if you can, and not put him/her downWww@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's immoral if you perceived them as mere servants and not as partners or as your helpers in homemaking or business!. You need them as much as they need you for their livelihood!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think ? explained it well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not if you can afford to pay them!Www@QuestionHome@Com
