We all have survived because we extend love to others who extend love back to us!. We attract people of like interests and develop new interests in response to new people!. I think love is the basis of all that is good!. If you love you friends and family you will be blessed!. We are blessed with life and can choose to do whatever we wish!. To be honest to feel fortunate and blessed is a form of human mystified thinking, believing that if we keep thinking that we will be grateful hence rewarded!. We did that too like 5000 years ago when we were grateful to the clouds for raining on the crops!.

So if there is a God I really don't think he would pick you out among the 6 billiion to bless you because you are grateful for your life!.
