Simple!. Just abandon the scripts, and think!. I don't believe life, human or not, has any intrinsic purpose or meaning, although it's certainly remarkable for simply being!. The web of life and nature, which interdependently makes life on Earth possible (and which we're destroying), makes human life possible too!. And amongst it all, uniquely, we have choice!. What we choose to do with our life defines its purpose!. The values shaping that choice defines its meaning - to ourselves!. But ultimately the meaning of our lives is defined by our effect on all that we define as "other" - which is, after all, one of the choices that define our values!. How separate are any of us from all living things and the Earth itself!? We are defined by what we do, not by what we profess!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"We are born and we die; and between these two most important events in our lives more or less time elapses which we have to waste somehow or other!. In the end it does not seem to matter much whether we have done so in making money, or practicing law, or reading or playing, or in any other way, as long as we felt we were deriving a maximum of happiness out of our doings!."
Clarence Darrow

"All who are not lunatics are agreed about certain things!. That it is better to be alive than dead, better to be adequately fed than starved, better to be free than a slave!. Many people desire those things only for themselves and their friends; they are quite content that their enemies should suffer!. These people can be refuted by science: mankind has become so much one family that we cannot insure our own prosperity except by insuring that of everyone else!. If you wish to be happy yourself, you must resign yourself to seeing others also happy!."
Bertrand Russell

"If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal!."
