Question: How is the youth of today perceived (good/bad!?) and do you feel that it is fair!?
I have to write a paper for english, and I feel like it really goes both ways!. Its kind of hard to write a paper on something that I don't have a strong opinion about!.
Adults: How do you feel about the youth today!? Do you think that your feelings are fair!?
Kids: Do you feel like there is prejudice against you because you are a kid (younger than 20)!? Do you think it's fair!?
I saw another question like this one (

It's difficult to generalize because there are always exceptions!. However, one common trend I see is that kids are tremendously spoiled nowadays!. The conveniences afforded by technology and a more indulgent parenting style has bred a generation that doesn't know much about hard work or sacrifice!. I see a lot of high expectations and a pretty low work ethic!. It's a concern, and it should be interesting to see the shock they receive when they get out into the real world!.
As for the flip side of the argument, I don't see how that's changed at all!. I remember as a teen being bugged by the cops for doing nothing and the suspicious looks of store owners!. It's been that way forever!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I'm a kid, and i definately feel prejudiced against, i would never steal or anything, and i find myself being watched or followed in stores constantly!.!.
i get yelled at if i'm walking down the street!.!.
i don't even dress like a thug or anything!.!.
there ARE bad kids, but many of us are good, it's very unfair that everyone assumes all teens are on there way to buy some crack!.!.
i just like having fun, and that never includes things that are illegal!.!.!. i don't understand why i'm being kicked out of places without making a ruckus or anything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Death of the 'Spare the rod-Spoil the child' rule, a product of the ongoing (and counter-productive) Permissive Era has had the deleterious effect of expecting kids to behave like adults while wrongly making them think they know it all!.
Traditional patterns of behaviour are largely non existant or blatantly ignored!. I give you!.!.!.slovenly clothes, sexual promiscuity!.!.!.teenagers often having babies as a rite of passage just as 'acheiving' an arrest record is!.
These are not the norm, however!. Most of you are good kids who are getting the bum-rap because of those who don't get the right kind of upbringing!.
Broken homes, latch key kids, de-emphasisof reading and education, generally, television as the au pair!.!.!.All these and a hundred more words and phrases have become identifiers of The Problem With Kids today!.
