Hail the spirit of camaraderie, that would win over the hearts of all;perceive everyone as you would yourself; shun warfare, shun cut-throat competition; shun the urge to transgress (intrude/aggress) others; the mother earth is bountiful to fulfill the needs of all; the Supreme Almighty is all compassionate; sublimate, share,be empathetic!. All glory to everybody in the world!.!."
I would just paraphrase that if only a sense of sharing all endowments with a spirit of trusteeship (a la Gandhiji and Jesus), is developed, happiness can be ensured for all!.

Yes, I am happy with the nature fulfilling all my needs!. Because I always try to co-operate with nature!.
However, a man with thirst, can not remain happy always, because as soon one of his requirements is fulfilled, a new requirement immediately appears to be fulfilled!.
On the other hand, the progress may not exist without thirst, without will to do something new, to find something better!.
And after all in "Kabeer's" words--
" Jinko kachoo na chaahiye, so hi shahanshaah" the happy man!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are right!. Nature fulfills all our needs and will keep doing so!. But human awareness is limited and Nature's resources are unevenly distributed by artificial geographic areas called countries!. This brings about wide disparities in the distribution of Natures wealth, of what should be evenly distributed!.Because of this, happiness becomes a relative termWww@QuestionHome@Com

Mother nature has showered us with plentiful water, sunshine and yet we still crave more man has material wants apart from naturalWww@QuestionHome@Com

Ask and it shall be given says the holy Bible and nature indeed does so being the tool of the Creator!.!.

But while man gets everything from nature he is least reciprocative and engages in the destruction of nature for his selfish and insatiable consumption!.!.

Nature is so well integrated!.!. The birds spreading the seeds of plants and helping their propagation!.!. playing the scavenger roles and cleaning the ambience!.!. plants producing food for life forms cleanig the air of toxic gases etc

But man kills animals and birds and even the trees for his endless consumption of one sort or the other!.!. so he is caught up in the vicious circle of consumption and pollution!.!.

He is not even civilised with his flock of humanity and so he is not able to be happy!.!. For happiness is not in more and more consumption and indulgence in selfish pursuits but in sharing love and caring for all!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you have a roof over your head and something to eat, you are among the few blessed on the Earth with such!. Throughout history, there has been a social pyramid with those well off at the top and those suffering most at the bottom!. For most of human existence the pyramid has been huge at the bottom and not very high (kings and popes did not have heat in the winter, for example!.) In recent years the top of the pyramid has gotten way way up into the stratosphere!. Today, the middle is being cut out of the pyramid, but the well being of the next to lowest fifth of the pyramid is better than it has ever been for them!.

So are we comparing happiness for the top or happiness for the bottom!. those nearest the bottom do not have time to contemplate happiness, and those at the top have too much time to contemplate it!. Since happiness is an emotion that comes and goes, having less time to contemplate it usually results in a healthier attitude towards satisfaction in life!.

Basically, if you are so concerned about happiness, you are too well off for your own good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read about an interview of one Marxist and veteran journalist, late Rusi Karanjia, with a well known spiritualist and humanist Sri Sathya Sai Baba, in the 1970s!. The journalist asked the Baba who was known to cure people with serious diseases, grant boons and materialise valuable gifts, why with all his powers he can not make the poor people rich in the country and solve the problems of the country!?

The answer given by the spiritualist would be the best reply to your querry from the spiritualist stand point!. He said that the riches are mistakenly thought to be boons and poverty as a curse!. But the rich are least happy compared to the poor in the country!.!. they sufferred all sort of mental tension to keep up their status high, protect their wealth, keep competitors in business at bay and in the process suffer from diseases as well!.!. while the poor were contented with limited resources to make both ends meet and had a better health and sleep than the richer ones!.!.!

However he gave people gifts and solved their problems just to draw them to his fold and then make them follow the spiritual path of love and service to humanity!. He also clarified that problems are stepping stones to success and refinement!.

Most of the worst problems earned by greed (like the over exploitatin of nature and causing man made floods and droughts / pollution etc)
lust, envy etc have to be got rid of by reverting to ethical way of coexistence in a spirit of give and take - caring and sharing!.!.

So it is not the acquisition of gifts of wealth and status that gives us true and lasting happiness and fulfillment!.!. but the inner qualities of love, right actions and contentment!.!. that is what spiritualists help us to attain!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
