Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Just a bit, yes!. In the 17th Century, John Donne wrote, 'No man is an island!.!.!.!. everyone's death diminishes me, because I am a part of mankind!.' Www@QuestionHome@Com No it does not!. Though its all matter of opinion!. For starters the person saying it DOES have their own life to live and cannot possibly live someone elses!. And the person they are talking to has their own lifeto live!. Next, what is this statement a result of!? Think about it!. The person on the recieving end of the statement may have been the selfish one from the start!. They want the perosn to live a life thats not there own!.They want the person to do whatever they want them to do for there own benefit!. So the person tell them "no!. ive got my own life to live!." Hardly selfish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It sounds selfish if someone is asking you for help and that is your answer!. However if someone has so many problems that need your attention and personal sacrifice all the time, eventually if you cant offer that part of yourself anymore ''Ive got my own life to live'' is not the nicest thing to say but its true!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Not necessarily no, because you could be the kind of person who gets "put upon" etc!. The more you do for others, the more they take you for granted, similar to myself sometimes!. You just need to find the balance between having some time to yourself and helping out others occasionally!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com depends what context it's used in!. if it's a parent that's forcing something upon you, i think that's completely acceptable, if it's someone asking you for help, then you are defiantly selfish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com We are all our brothers' keeper!. What you do to yourself you affect everyone else!. What you do to others you do to yourself!. We are not our separate bodies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com By itself it does!. As an assertion of personal interest over unreasonable demands by others, it sounds quite sensible!. If you don't at least think it once in a while, you'll wind up the neighborhood flunky!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It depends on the context it was used in really, but yeah, it does sound selfish from just that one line, or it could just be that the person saying it feels put upon maybe!?Www@QuestionHome@Com If you have kids yes!.!.!.!.until they are able to care for themselves!.!.!.!.But if they are grown and ur not in this category then no its not selfish!.!. People live their whole lives for other people and dont even realize it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com maybe isolated!.!.!. but one has to take care of oneself first!.!.!. we cannot live others lives for them!. blessings Www@QuestionHome@Com well i have to h8 my own life so that i can be worthy of Christ and i also belong to him too!. <><Www@QuestionHome@Com A bit, but then the person telling you that is probably either having problems or has got PMT!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It sounds assertive & empowered to me!. Www@QuestionHome@Com It depends entirely on the context!.Www@QuestionHome@Com No, only by living our life we can help others !.Www@QuestionHome@Com A little bit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com !.!.!.and true!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
