I think that love is an involuntary response to virtue!. If someone acts with virtue, we will respond with love!. Since many of our involuntary responses are emotions, such as anger, happiness, sadness, fear, we can safely say that love is another feeling!.

However, since philosophy is required to understand virtue, as virtue is related to ones interaction with reality and only a rational methodology can describe reality, if we want to experience love more frequently, we would benefit from a deep study of philosophy, so we can live it, which will then spread it effectively!.

love is a feeling that we attempt to decribe, because of a human longing to answer every questions!. nature intended bodies to be attracted to each other, and we are one of the species of creatures that try to take a mate for life!. a simple feeling and lusting we feel for one another cannot be described, so we desperatly tried to find a way to describe it!. therefore we came up with 'love'!.
if we take away our minds, we can still 'love' to a certain extent!. we may not be care as much for the other person, but we will still feel a longing, a pulling!. nature needed us humans to breed somehow, and this is the solution!. if you look at animals that mate for life, such as wolves, you can observe how similare they are to us and our actions!. is that love!? or just a natural connection!. we say animals do not have minds like we do, and yet they still 'love', so i guess you can love without a mind!.

it's probably a little bit of both!.
it depends on the way that you want to look at it!.
feeling: actual making love; or just the way that they MAKE you feel when you're around them!. (butterflies in your stomach, really happy and child-like)
philosophy: it's indescribable, so how do you know it's really there!.!.!.
