Question: What is the first work of Sartre that I should read!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
To grasp his train of thought from a literary perspective read Nausea but if you'd like a more philosophical text try Existentialism and Humanism which is basically a transcript of a lecture he gave - it is better to start there than to dive straight into something like Being and Nothingness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Existentialism is a Humanism, that is definitely the one that I would start out with!.

To be quite honest, I would steer from Sartre, and involve yourself with the work of Albert Camus!.

Auf wiedersehen!.

Actually, I think his play 'No Exit' is the best place to start!. A famous line: 'Hell is other people!.'Www@QuestionHome@Com
