Question: Does progressive revelation mean we just keep getting happier!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I think tht the 3 answers before me have said it all and then some!.

I like the idea of blankness, I call it neutrality!. When someone tells me their revelation I sometimes jump up and down with some strange glee and other times I just sit there and go "That's nice"!.

I can look at the view many times and be totally amazed and other times I look and absorb it and feel "neutral" about it!. But both times it is as if I still GAIN the same from it!.

I find that if my day does not bring a smile to my face that I have not been out "mixing with the humans" enough!. When I go out and see someone who needs help and I respond to that need, THAT is when I get a smile as I leave, having known that I have been instrumental in making someone else's day better!. THAT is my ultimate reward!.

Each day I learn more and that is good!. Progressive revelation means that I achieve more and more knowledge but my joy comes from sharing that knowledge with others who understand!.

Right now I can achieve further joy by going out into my workshop and painting a post but let me just say this !.!.!. IF YOU find JOY in Truth !.!.!. then may you find the Motherload of Truth today and basque in your new found happiness!. For when YOU are happy, I WILL feel it and it will make ME happy as well!.

Peace, Love, Light!

not at all!. You getting a progressive hope that happiness would be understood someday and obtained !.!.!.On your way to understanding you will realized that permanent happiness, which you persistenly desire does not consist judgement of any kind!.!.When you will understand fully what judgment is and it would have quite dipper meaning than you may presume then you will realize that a judgement comes from your ability to think and anythink you think based on judgment goog or bad!.!.!.Criterion for judgment is not set but it clearly states "Judge Not" And that would mean absence of thougts!.!.!.Permanently!. One of two still left!. Whether shut off a mind completely, which is less likely , for mind is integral part of a whole structure called human being and designed for some reasonable reason!.!.!.To shut it of would not be adviced!. Or to realized that mind is used in a way it shouldnt be!.!.Now go ahead and understand a mind, desirably your own!.Attempt of a science to realize a mind always will be a failure!. They study mind of others and made no progress!. Good luck!. Of course that is not everything which you will go through in search of happiness!.!.!.It takes time and unprecendental devotion and rediness to face unknown!.!.!.For now keep count revelation and do first step, make sense of them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't believe so!. I think that's why the statement "ignorance is bliss" is so truthful, and why people become more cynical as they age and learn!. The more a person sees of this world and humanity and the lack of selflessness and love, they harden up inside and become cold to the pain and sadness of reality!. Which is worse than having that hope of revelation making us happier!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think revelation has to be linked with implementation for it to impact on our happiness!. Truth itself can be a source of great misery if we have no intention of living by it!.!.!. but for the person who loves truth, and wants to change themselves and make personal progress by it, THAT is when progressive revelation brings greater and greater joy, peace, love, faith/empowerment, etc!.

2 Ne!. 9: 40 - http://scriptures!.lds!.org/en/2_ne/9/40#4!.!.!.
40 O, my beloved brethren, give ear to my words!. Remember the greatness of the Holy One of Israel!. Do not say that I have spoken hard things against you; for if ye do, ye will revile against the truth; for I have spoken the words of your Maker!. I know that the words of truth are hard against all uncleanness; but the righteous fear them not, for they love the truth and are not shaken!.

God wants us to be happy!.!.!. so He usually only gives continuing revelation to those who act on the revelation they have received so far, and are committed to do so!.

2 Ne!. 28: 30 - http://scriptures!.lds!.org/en/2_ne/28/30#!.!.!.
30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon aprecept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have!.

it would depend on the individuals outlook about the revelations, and again for the second question, but i would say joy is not always connected to truth, if a close friend gets hit by a car and is hospitalized it would be a trueth but not necessarily a joy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
