Question: Philosophical arguments Help please!!?
Can someone help me answer these questions in a philosophical manner please!? Thank you!

Evaluate the following argument: Statistics show that most car accidents occur between the speeds of 30 mph and 50 mph!. In fact the drop off above 50 is enormous, and above 80 there are hardly any accidents at all!. So the conclusion is obvious: we should abolish all speed limits

And

Explain and analyze the steps we must take in examining premises for a deductive argument!.

Philosophy obviates the keeping of statistics!. The argument (false premise) is that the group should esteem Statisticians over Philosophers!. Abolish this question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. If most events occur 30-50, why not lower the s l to 25 mph!?

2!. The event is considered a bad thing!. Therefore, the argument is focused on deriving the best reduction of it!.

3!. The assumption is that there is an even distribution of speed events!. However, this is a false assumption!. More driving time occurs in the 30-50 mph range, than at e!.g!. 80 mph and more!.

4!. Thus a false metric: a true measurement would be number of events per 100 vehicles at each mph speed!. A million vehicles at 30 mph will produce more events than 100 vehicles at 80 mph, although the rate of events could be 10 times more at 80 mph!.

5!. Severity of events is not considered!. Event at 30 mph is not nearly so physical and potentially out-of-control as event at 80 mph!.

6!. The error is in assuming the data reflect an evenly distributed sample!.

Yes but let us measure the DEATH rate of the accidents that DO occur at higher speed limits!.
Let's say I hit a kid at 30 Mph while driving my Jeep!. Chances are he will live with injury!. However, If I so much as SWIPE him going 60, it's all over!.
If we did abolish the speed limits, accident rates may not be as high, rather, much more fatal!.

It is not the frequency of accidents that would make this speed limit thing seem illogical, rather, it is the frequency of FATAL accidents that make having speed limits logical!.

also, what about in school zones!? Or even worse, school zones for special needs children!? Do you really want to turn a corner going 40 and mowing a 10 year old little boy playing baseball in the street down!?

A car is a weapon just as it is a tool, and just like a blade, the more force you put into it, the more likely it is to kill!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, now look at the number of car accidents at those speeds vs!. the number of occurences of people driving at those speeds, and you'll see driving at higher speeds is far more dangerous!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Look up the Autobahn in Germany that has no speed limit and few accidents and use that to support your premiseWww@QuestionHome@Com
