Question: How can we destroy the conflicting parts of ourselves!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Don't try it!. You need that part of you to a complete human being!. Simply reconcile them as best you can!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As long as mind is fragmentary conflict is inevitable!.
Conflicting parts are the result of destruction of
unitariness of the mind!.So the solution is to keep the
mind in oneness, not the destruction of the conflicting parts!.
Thought is fragmenting the mind and unless there is stilling
of thought when thought is not required there will always be
conflicting parts in the mind!.For stilling of thought self-enquiry
is the only way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some conflicting parts are good in order to give us balance!.
Sometimes the conflicting part that we want to get rid of
is really the one we need and we might learn that as
we age!. The personality and self is a complex thing!.
We have to treat it tenderly!. We learn as we are around
other people and as we spend time getting to know ourselves;
it is good to have a balance of spending time with others and
spending time alone!. The others you learn from should
be chosen wisely as well as the activities and work one
does in order to learn the most about life!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with Sophist!. The seemingly conflicting parts in us provide the balance!. We need both poles!.

In our lives and work we are confronted by many issues!. Sometimes we look for a coach to help us work on certain issues!. The question one asks oneself is the result of the imbalance between two sides of one’s self!. One of the parts turns out to be excluded when actually we need both poles in our lives!.

Sometimes our strong points will increasingly be felt as oppressive, and our undeveloped parts as missing from our lives!. Then we begin to experience both sides as a field of tension between two poles, between two aspects of ourselves that appear to exclude each other!. But then again, we need both poles for balance!.

First , are you sure you can identify the conflicting parts!? Conflicting with what!? Your natural self!? I do not think we have conflicts internally !. We put on a mask if what we are and what we want to project are at variance!. That is not conflict!.
The real conflict is when we interact with the outside world!. What we think is at variance with what we are told to think creates conflict!. This is external to us and is easy to overcome with a resolve!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are many ways to do this!. pick the side you like and kill the other!. Find out what and where it is in you, stick a vacuum hose down and suck it out! You can also cut it out with a chainsaw or various blades!. Have an exorcism perofrmed perhaps!? hahaha
Really, a counselor is a great way to learn about ourselves, and learn methods to better ourselves!. I see one, and he is amazing! Prayer can never hurt either!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if it is the conflicting parts in ourselves then it can be resolved but there could be many more repulsive forces which acts automatically and dont let us solve that but the main thing is to think individual's life as a separate from anything else in this time, u cannot just control coz its acting against ur thoughts always !. so the important thing is try ur best as u can and before u die , u will be able to distinguish between urself and conflicting parts it selfWww@QuestionHome@Com

As usual you have succeeded in getting a lively discussion on an abstract subject and I am surprised at the variety of perceptions exposed in the feedbacks!.!.

suppose we feel one way about a problem of the self and feel differently (less intensively and casually) when the same type of affliction torments the other person!.!. then I suppose there is a conflict in (ethical sense) perceptions that needs to be refined!.!.

If one develops true holy Love that cuts across one's identities vis a vis others - like culture, colour, race, language or what not, then the conflicts wont arise in the minds at all!.!.

I had seen love in the eyes of saints like Mother Theresa!.!. she could beg for the sake of the poor and forlorn!.!. she lost her identity in the universality of the pervading Love force!.!. Let us try to reach that level!.!. But it is easier said than done!.!.

Poet Laurete Tagore (India) sings in his celebrated "Song Offerings" (Gitanjali) thus:
"I know priceless wealth is in Thee and that thou are my best friend!.,
But I have not the heart to sweep away the tinsel that fills my room (read mind),
I hate it yet hug it in love!.!."

This is our true predicament!. We know our follies but have no nerve to overcome them!.!. tacit fears, doubts, vague selfishness, greed and umpteen vices pull us down!.!.

But dont we fall a score times while learning cycling!.!.!? All the same, we learn the art one day and feel comfortable gliding along on main roads, even hands free over time!

Even so, we can build up the universal Love in our hearts, getting over the weaknesses of the mind by and by!. Then there will be no conflicts tormenting our conscience!.!.! God bless us in this effort!Www@QuestionHome@Com

lol!.!. destroy!.!.!. conflicts are never solved by destruction!.

usually, man is object for inner conflicts, and outer conflicts!. We tend to prefer having inner conflicts than facing an outer conflict!. an Outer conflict is not really a conflict, it is rather what Jung calls "difficulties" that are necessary for health!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think by getting to know ourselves truly we realize that we are just one and that there really are no conflicting parts, per se!.
I think the conflict comes when the ego wants to go out there and chase after stuff!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
