Question: Is anything truly black or white!?
If so, in what environment can we be sure that something is measured as black or white!. I want some clever people on this not people that think black paint is black or white paint is white!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I am a clever person, and I do think black paint is black and white paint white!. I see no harm in seeing all colours the colour they are, the colour they outwardly reflect, and the colour they liked to be seen in, but this merely is the beginning!.

Scientists will tell you a whole lot about the colours of all things, as they would say something green is anything but green, red anything but red, and blue anything but blue!. The skies above look blue because the atmospheric air that houses the holographic image of an inverted dome-like skies absorbs all colours save blue that leave for us to see; there is no colour black as back is the name we give to a place where there is no light reflected for us to benefit, or something that is a near perfect dump for light; there is no colour white either and white is the presence of all the colours of rainbow, i!.e!. the things that appear white are in fact dark as they reflect all the colours of the visible spectrum!.

There is nothing black or white in philosophy however, as it is in the books of law or commandments of a religion!. Things in philosophy, as in normal life, need constant supply of thought for their proper understanding, and without that constant supply of thought they start to turn grey and decent into obscurity!. We endlessly struggled to come to terms with our understanding of life, its meaningfulness, and its true purpose, for instance!. This is common to have life, but this is not easy to make something special out of a common life; this is common to believe in truth but this is not as common to see truth, to find it in ‘black and white’ as you might like to put!.

Aside life and its truth, there are things everywhere around us that threaten us with their obscurity and lack of clear-cut definitions, what is beauty, we may ask, and wonder about its nature without any final answer coming to light!. We cannot see an end to fighting among human being, any resolution to conflicting issues of various kind … are we really intelligent!? This is not clear, not yet at least!.

There is hardly a thing in life that could stand the full brunt of our doubtfulness and stay what it might initially be, what is good and bad, is evil a creation of God, the good!? Is human nature good or bad!? We are never certain!.

Then as religion comes to our rescue with all the answers to all our questions, to offer us support, a helping hand, a solid platform of faith to rest our mind on, to enable us see all things in a certain particular way so that we may see with the eyes of God an do justice with His hand, but then we cannot help asking, do we need religion at all to tell us what is good and what is bad, and shall we do!. Are we not made intelligent with an innate sense of right and wrong built in by default!?

I think therefore I believe that we could go on doubting forever everything, turning everything grey until stuff finally we could think no more!. But fortunately this does not happen quite often as we sooner or later learn to accept answers, answers from religion, from common law, from our society, for the mouth of the ones be share of our life with, to see things fair finely in the end!.

The right atmosphere, for measuring all things in there true colours, therefore, would be the atmosphere where open mindedness, faithfulness, tolerance and freedom of opinion, among many other virtues of the mind, would be possible, where it would be possible for someone to see things for oneself, then through others eyes, to compare them and share with other people whatever one might eventually able to see and to understand and appreciate if others see things better!. I think we all need to come to see that all things do have their characteristic colours by which they can be know best, and therefore should known from the start!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Colours are secondary qualities of objects!. That is insofar as an object has a definite extension (length, breadth etc) and temporal duration, but it doesn't necessarily contain the notion of colour within it!.

A simple explanation would be to imagine if the human race, by nature, were blind, then would the colour of an apple be relevant to the definition of the apple!? If this is the case, then any notion of the concept of colour would be irrelevant and would therefore neither be necessary nor universal!. This given to be so then the concept of colour would require an observer and this observer to token unto the experience and arbitrary word such as black or white!.

I wish to approach this question metaphorically!. Firstly, words are symbols and colours/shades are as perceived!. Therefore this question when asked literally, the answer is personal depending on our deciphering of the symbols and interpretation of our perceptions!.

Whether I say everything is black and white or everything is grey is irrellevant!.!. one could go on to argue that all grey is made up of black and white in the first place!. This being the case everything is black and white and indeed a shade of grey but nothing appears to be independently and exclusively one and not the other!.

Polar opposites appear to be fundamental to the state and mechanics of energy and matter!.!. and polar opposites by definition make no sense without both ends being opposite!. Therefore they appear to be entirely co-dependant!. What is love without hate, north pole without south, up without down, gravity without weightlessness, pleasure without pain!? All meaningless and non-existant without the presence of their polar opposite to be gauged against!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think anything is ever black or white, there is always a grey area!. You will come across some people who will see certain situations as black or white because they don't think deeply about it and see the only what is on the surface!.
There is always a grey area in everything, it just takes a while to see it for some people!. It is the gray areas in life that make things so interesting and opens the world up to mistakes and other such things!.

we can't view the world in black and white and see it for what it truly is!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on the definition of what you consider white and what black!. For instance, for ages white has been the symbol for purity!. So is a mother's selfless love for her child!. So technically that expression of motherly love would be white!. Similarly black is associated with evil and sin!. So is taking the life of another!. So ideally that type of action would be defined as black!.

A lot of judgments these days are called "gray" since they are not as defined as the examples above!. So its always usually an individual's opinion of what he/she thinks is white or black!. :)

Hope this helped!.

I think if you could be completely at peace with the world and your place in it, perhaps it would be possible to see things in black and white, e!.g!. all good is white and all bad is black!. So to answer your question, I think perhaps the environment would be a monastery or desert island which is completely cut off from the rest of the world where you could just meditate all day!. You might find the answer just before you go insane!. There's nothing wrong with lots of grey in life, it gives us the opportunity to make choices!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!. Anything is truly black or white! This is how we see a thing!. That is our perception !. That is what is apparent to us !. This , by itself , is not a problem in life!.
The problem starts when we tell the others our perception, our subjective evaluation and insist that objectively we are correct!. Unfortunately they donot see it the way we do!. They see it differently !. They see some grey , some offwhite in this and they try to tell us !. But we are not going to listen to them!.
Those very same people, who are able to see grey or off white , get caught up in this and many times they say things are black or white !. Others deny this!. This is an eternal problem !.
Wise people understand this and move away from taking extreme stand, black or white !. The range between balck and white is so vast that everyone is right when they say that it is between black and white !.
It is like my saying that to touch an American earth it is enough that I touch the earth that I am standing on !. I donot have to go to America to touch earth!. It is the same!.!. You cannot say that America is not on this earth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Everything in life is black and white!. The journey we struggle in life shows up in grays!. I think this is where your question comes in!. But everything in life is really simple we just!.!.!. over complicate things while looking for the correct answer!.

That is a good question!. I'm sure you can't find an absolute absence/presence of all color on our planet, so I'd bet there really is no such thing as true black and white!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
