You need to create something, a legacy that will live forever!. Having said that, if you want to take this seriously then i suggest you look into cryogenics!. It is possible to have your body or head frozen after you die!. That way scientist could possibly bring you back to life in the future!. You could even have some upgrades!. It` s a long shot but it`s the best chance you have!. Of course theres no guarantee!. Humankind could wipe eachother out before a way to revive you is discovered!. Or you could be awoken in the year 2099 because the west is running low on soldiers, and you`d be drafted into some horrible futuristic battlefield!. etc!. etc!. etc!. In it, he describes some of the reasons why we age, and what some researchers are trying to do about it!. The biggest hurdle to get over is that the human body has a self-destruct mechanism!. Every time your cells divide telomeres, molecules that hold dna chains together, get a bit shorter!. As the telomeres get shorter, new genes become active!. Eventually toward the end of one's life, the genes activated work in opposition to healthy immune function and healing!. Cancer cells' telomeres do not shorten due to the presence of a chemical created by the body called telomerase!. It is possible to introduce telomerase to normal cells, but this could open a person to a greater risk of contracting cancer!. I would read Immortality by Ben Bova!. It gives a good overview of the state of things ten years ago!. I don't know how much things have changed in the past decade, though!.
