My only question is, how cam you be sure you exist!? You cannot trust your five senses, which can be blurred!. You cannot trust your memory because it might not really be a memory!. So that just leaves your thoughts!. But how can you be sure your thoughts are there if you can only reflect on them in memory!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

But seeing as how, insofar as you can perceive, you at least appear to exist in some manner, you may as well just go with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Doubting all of the senses and memory is fine, but the only flaw is that one does not go far enough to doubt consciousness because self awareness is equally deceptive!. The process is circular and self defined and therefore not necessary for reality!. Without taking that last step, the illusion is interrupted at the level of consciousness without resolution!. Hence the dualistic separations - of mind and body; death and afterlife!. The problem is that we could not observe the conversion between something and nothing!. The process is counter intuitive and it has the same nature as any illusion we set out to doubt!. To say "I think therefore I exist" is to assume there is the illusion of "I" to begin with, so the obvious conclusion is that the "I" entity exists and "thinking" or consciousness is just an illusive property of an impermanent world / reality!. When reality is chaotic, our notion of "self" is just as temporary, hence the uncertainty of everything seems self evident!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Many years ago there was a painter who painted a simple picture of a steel pipe!. He said over this "this is not a pipe" (of cource in latin words) He then made a mobile (hanging art) above the painting which had a pipe inscribed in a frame!. One interpretation of this piece was that he meant it to challenge mankind's perspective!. WHO, I ask, is to say that the pipe which we know is actually a pipe, or the pipe in the painting is not a pipe but just a painting!.
