Question: How would you start the ideal civilization!?
now, i've asked something like this before (maybe a year or so ago) and i got some pretty cool responses so i thought i'd do it again and see what i get!.
now, what if tomorrow a meteor struck the earth, killing almost everybody!. now YOU were somehow granted the power to decide all the rules and who would be the basis of your society!. would you start with children or adults!? would you start off a democracy or abandon all form of government at all!?

I would start with a democracy, and have the people vote on the laws of the society!. Then abandon democracy, unltil needed!. We can survive on laws alone!.
Volonteers for Police!.
If the law is broken (Theft,Vandalism) , you can spend a few days in jail or be banished!. If a sever law is broken (Murder, Arson) you are banished!.
Laws can only restrict!. Other than the laws you can do whatever you want!.
Money is optional!. There will be small towns in this society, run by those who do not like te laws!. But still are protected by our police!.
And to be accepted into the society, you must sign a contract stating you will obey the law!. If you don't, "Not Welcome!."!. If you do, but don't uphold your word, you will be tied to a tree in the courtyard for 2 days, with little food or water!. Then you will be banished!.
You know!. Basic stuff!.
This would technically not be a government!. I do not consider democracy to be a government!. Democracy is Anarchy, but fair!.

I would kill everyone and finally myself!. There is no "ideal" civilization, just as their is no "ideal" anything!. Perfection is a lie!.
However, if I were to create a civilization that I believe would work the best, I would encourage communication and open-mindedness, along with a self-governing structure!. People in a neighborhood can take care of their problems between them, people in a city can take care of their problems between them, and so on as the population grows!. Eventually, I would hope that the people would have all of their relevant problems available to them, most likely via internet or something similar, and be given the chance to make their own choices on what should be done about them!. I don't expect this civilization to be perfect, but I believe it to be important for people to be responsible for their own problems instead of pushing them onto somebody that they've never met!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I would not start any sort of civilization,they are based on trade,power and egomaniac leaders [usually men] and eventually crumble,every empire without fail eventually crumbles!.
I would have everyone go back into tribal groups as it seems to have worked effeciently for most of the world until 4,000 or so years ago!.I would make life more balanced!.
I would put the various mothers of the world as head chiefs of each tribe,there is a saying "if the mothers of various nations got together there would be no more war!."Www@QuestionHome@Com
As my real answer I will submit that if it were up to me we would all be doomed because I generally don't care one way or the other; HOWEVER
I would definitely begin a utopian civilization with children only!. That is the only way to guarantee, somewhat, no corruption!. Because children learn from us, they will only ever know what we teach them, and later what they learn for themselves!. If they are taught well, then they will be able to process and utilize the things they learn later for the good of the others!.
As far as government goes, like a said I would teach only children what I think they need to know to survive!. From there I would allow them to figure out the rest for themselves!. Allow Darwin's work to be applied to humans is the only way to insure a good society!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
What you are suggesting is that we could somehow speed up earth school
by taking charge and imposing our wills!.
If such a disaster occurred, we would work together, for the most part!.
We are good people and do help others when the chips are down!.
Usually our egos have us be competitive rather than cooperative and
helpful!. As conditions improve we will resume our old habits!. It's what
we know best!.
I have wondered what calamities would befall us if I
took charge of the world!. Be thankful I am not in Charge!.
I think Divine Wisdom can and is running things pretty well, and is doing
it through some rather dense channels called congress, Parliament,and etc!.

Judging from the One we have NOW, I wouldn't know where to Start ! People being the Way they ARE (considerably LESS than Perfect), I'm inclined to Doubt ANY kind of "Ideal Civilization" could be created- even under the BEST of Circumstances!.!.!. The ideal civilisation can start any more from 0 because we are here now!
What we can do is chose what we value the most and increase the influence on those issue!
Personally I would like a society that is transparent!.
My main motivator is the critical theory, once u read that (if u dont already know that) you can move ahead from the civilisation formula, because we encounter life evry day in our different sociqal settings and by doing so we can bring new solution to old problems, and some of those can be the most effective!
Personally I think we have the tools but we do not use them!
I think the lacks of our civilisation are based on greed and sex as a comody which I find anoying!. Real trasparence would allow us to deal with those issues!
Other possible civilisations would come from different applications of our resources, or better from sharinmg them
EG, EU formed to avoid wars and therefore EU countried shared resources, coal from France and so on (Germans needed them) and they got something in return!.
We have only one world we should be able to share it,! and be its citizens!

They are very good and u can experiment, weather you want more peace or more wars!
