Not sure if a Turing test could do!. I suppose a good indication would be when the A!.I!. could learn to give a good debate with a human in philosophy!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd tend to believe that any test we might contrive would be highly biased toward a consciousness much like our own!. Thus, it might reject any entity that was every bit as self-aware as we are but expressed itself in way that we could not easily identify with!.
Setting artificial intelligence aside for a moment, consider that there is much evidence to support the idea that dolphins and whales are sentient, self-aware beings!. Yet, with all the study of them, we have been unable to conclusively establish that they are sentient creatures like ourselves!.
With a robot, we could assume that we've designed it to appear and communicate like us which could go a long way in convincing us that it was "like" us when it really isn't a "self" at all!.
I know I'm not really answering your interesting question, just mentioning aspects and problems that such a test would have to consider!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If it saw the irony when it killed its creator!.

But which human is going to make the decision!.
You could pick a gullible person who is easily persuaded by unsophisticated software, or an extremely sceptical person who takes a much more complex program to convince them!.
Who judges the judges !?!?!?!?

Watch the film Bladerunner!. Deckard IS artificial!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
