A tautology is simply a phrase or sentence that brings no new information to light and is just a double proclamation!. The usual example of this is "a bachelor is unmarried" or "the sun is a star" could be another!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes of course!.

a tautology is a statement or argument, that is circular in reasoning!.

more technically, it is something that always comes out true!. if you create a truth table (im talking about formal logic) the result will always be true!.

for example!. Bad people take drugs, therefore, people who take drugs, are bad!.

another way to think of it, is you are restating the same information, in a different manner using different words!. but no new or useful information can really be deduced from the statement or phrase!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ooh, i loved that class! :]

Tautology pretty much means LOGIC!.
something OBVIOUS thats true, but not so useful!.
like;;
A is not -A
or
-A is not A!.

It pretty much says the SAME thing!.!. in a different way!.
making it always a true logical statement!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A tautology is something that is necessarily always true, so actually conveys no useful information!. Example: a man is a man!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is a repetition of a word or phrase:

eg Free gift (A gift is by definition something given for free, therefore the meaning is repeated)

OR:

'New innovation'Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm confused too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
