Question: Is God a Rational Being!?
He is omniscient, so he doesn't need to contemplate, or reason through situations!. He just knows the answers and never thinks them out because he already knows the reasons!. So he doesn't really use reason in an exploratory search for truth!. He already knows, so how can He be thought of as rational!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Although I have no conception of God, I would say God is not a rational being because according to your description, he resembles an infinitely large storage of information, which is the only thing that can be considered to be omniscient!. And as a mere gigantic, infinite storage, like a fictional "hard-disk", such being has no need of "rational" thought!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Our language is not close to explaining or understanding God!. If there ever was a language good enough, it will only be the less inappropriate out of the many languages we use!.

God may inherently have what we know as rational!. God may also be all truth himself so there is no need for him to search or think like humans for truth!. Remember that a God can be outside time and space!. We should not ascribe human attributes to a metaphysical beingWww@QuestionHome@Com

We can learn about God from his creation and his revelation in the Bible!.

Logical argument:

God is limitless!. Man is limited!. If man asks a question about God, he is attempting to limit God to his limited understanding!. Since, God is unlimited, man can only perceive limited aspects of God!. Specifically those within the capabilities of his limited abilities!. Therefore man cannot say anything conclusive about God!.

That's a good point!. God's omniscience leads to other problems, as well, such as the notion that he cannot be free, since he's always known everything he would ever do and not do!. He can never make a choice, since his choices were all made an eternity ago!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
