I agree with tetracycle, prophecy always fails!. Most prophecies are vague enough so that almost any occurrance can be claimed as the fulfillment of prophecy!. See the link below for a discussion of the criteria for considering a prophecy to be fulfilled!.

Many people believe that the world will end in 2012, and it seems that many of them are doing their damnedest to make it so!. Then there are all those millions who believe in Armageddon and the Rapture, and wish for them ardently!. When you tie a belief in eternal bliss with global chaos and suffering, you have a very dangerous mixture!. At least that mixture seems to be lacking in the 2012 believers, except that some of them will also believe the Rapture will happen in that year, because they've mixed up their Christian mythology with New Age beliefs, so it will be interesting to see, when the fateful year arrives, just how those people will react when the world doesn't end and the Rapture doesn't occur!. It wouldn't surprise me if there are muslims who believe that the 12th Imam will return from a particular well during that year!. They're all going to be very disappointed, but they may well be able to get their Armageddon, at least!. It's easy to see that their are influential factions in both Christianity and Islam that are working to make their respective religions the only religions in the world!. And they want full control of the political machine, on a global scale!. Certainly in America, there are those who are working their way deep into the US government, all the way to the executive level!. If they are successful in digging their way into the very bowels of our civil beauracracy, how long can it be before biblical law replaces the Constitution!? And once the Christian Right factions have control of the armed forces, they may very well seek to destroy the Muslim world, hoping perhaps that their Saviour will return and take them to Heaven!. Or perhaps simply so they can attain total control over those humans who manage to survive the horror they intend to unleash on the world!. For the same reason I didn't believe that it was going to end any other time that I've heard the world was going to end!. No one here on this planet, whether they believe it or not knows when the end of the world is coming!. According to many, many people it was supposed to end when the year 2000 arrived!.!.!.so on and so on!. I say that everyone has their own beliefs and reasoning for them!. If the world were to end in 2012, what are we going to do about it!? I truly don't even understand the point in worrying about it!. Anyone can have anything happen to them at any given time, like illnesses, accidents, etc!.!.!.
