There are more poor people In America than the the total population of some third world countries!. No health care, no housing, no education!. Literally dieing in the streets!. The dollar has lost a third of its value!. The national debt is unfathomable!. No oil, polluted farm land, no natural resources!. Even Russia doesn't want you guys any more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com ~Only people with no knowledge of what caused the last Great Depression would think that it isn't possible to happen again!. The last Great Depression started in the U!.S!. with the collapse of the stock market and spread world-wide!. But the financial trouble that caused it started well before "Black Tuesday", October 29, 1929!. If you want to know what will happen, read some books on the Great Depression and you'll get an idea!. Sadly, the hardest hit in this country will be the poor, the elderly, those people with mortgages and other debts including credit card debt, people who are living above their means and people who have no savings!. also, people who are use to eating out all the time and buying prepackaged foods who don't know how to cook from scratch will be in real trouble!. If you don't know how to cook, grow your own food and to preserve it, mend and sew your own clothes, you might want to start learning now!. Once the idealism, struggle for social justice, the back-to-nature and communal sharing philosophy of the "we can change the world" generation of 1960's ended and the greed and materialism of the 1980's set in, the "Me First" mentality became the mainstay of this country for many people and corporations!. The ideals of ethics and social justice as a philosophy and a way of life were replaced by wanton materialism, self-indulgence and corruption!. We will survive this economic fall!? Who knows!. Will it change the greed, materialism and corruption within our society!? One can only hope!. The new bill, the $700 Billion thing I think is basically rewarding those companies for ripping people off!. I think the government should first take over those companies like they did with FreddieMac and FannieMae and AIG then give them the money so that crap doesn't happen again!. Like I said I think it's a reward for them to get that loan from the Fed,they get to keep going and doing whatever they want for the "sake of the countries financial system!."
