Consciousness is very much in the brain!. Even the most primitive of animals is aware of there surrounding and will strive to assimilate whatever is in their surroundings!. The more complex the animal the more of a conscious creature it is!. Predators are the most conscious of all!. They plan and scheme, organize and execute as they seek their prey!. They will take full advantage of whatever their environment provides!. Some will even stalk and eliminate competing species or competitors of there own kind!. Man is not the only species on this planet that makes war!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would have to say that consciousness lives in the mind because the brain is just the organ that is part of the human anatomy!. The mind however is unique in each of us and cannot ever be seen (not even by med students and doctors) and therefore it is more complicated and cannot be explained as well!. The consciousness is the active part of the mind that makes us aware of most things and i do believe that it could carry on functioning even after brain death, allowing it to ebb away at its own pace!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Consciousness is a necessary part of the mind!. But there are two kinds of consciousness, that of our surroundings, and that of our selves!. Very few conscious animals can recognize themselves in the mirror!. Us, chimps, and dolphins!. Being aware of ones surroundings is a necessary survival tool for every animal down to the microscopic, both for finding food and avoiding becoming food!. Self awareness is required in order attain the level of consciousness called "Conscience"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

near death experiences of course this can happen, but these are dream states!. everybody has a different near death experience!. not everybody has an out of body experience!. but whatever the experience, it needs the brain!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that our consciousness is located in the brain where it sends impules in the brain making it active and responding!. Its noting new!. When you faint the so called white light is a part of the dream people have during unconscousness!. Its nothing unusual its just that when someone is waking up he is partly getting a view of his white dream!. Since people lose consciousness in many different ways its probably the lack of blood in the brain somehow causing the eyes to see white stuff or have an actual white dream!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Consciousness, true consciousness, is not limited on the conditions of matter, energy, space, and time!. Mind is but one locus amid many where resides consciousness if not temporarily wearing raiment such as the clay temple!. It resides there and still other countless places again!. The brain is the seat of expression of the mind, which is the seat of expression of the heart, which, in turn, is the seat of expression of Soul Itself!.

Consciousness of most high merit can ride all manner of light and sound frequencies, those of all variation and intensity and purpose, those of inconceivable constituencies!. Consciousness, its range as we assume to know it in the physical state, and which is carried through the vehicle of the brain, is but one in a range of frequencies and signatures of physical existence!. So high and expansive do these reach up and out that the closest we can analogize it to is that in the instance of dogs and whales, which can hear sound frequencies far above the compass of the human auditory range!.

And so true to the maxim, As on Earth is it so above, there truly exists a hierarchy of and to life!. This is true despite all claims that take issue otherwise with the veracity of this!. We are well to give a nod to the Mind and to the brain, yes -- certainly -- testament to the great capacity of Consciousness to create and design and respond to need, but both mind and brain are things requisitioned through the "supply chain" mechanism and protocol of Consciousness; call it the Logistics involved and of a certain if high kind, but this is no more than just said -- As above, so below!.

This question takes us into the mantic (or spiritual) sciences and arts, of which philosophy is but one portion, and is the like of such questions put forward as once occurred (and occurs still) in the secreted and sequestered Mystery Schools on Earth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
