Question: What do you think about post modernism!?
I believe that in art and science are the glories of the human mind!. I see no conflict between them!. In the past they have flourished together during the great and happy periods of history and those men seem to me shortsighted who think that by suppressing science they will release other creative qualities!. It may be, however, that the present period is more favorable to the development of science than of art!.
Colonial domination, because it is total and tends to over-simplify, very soon manages to disrupt in spectacular fashion the cultural life of a conquered people!. This cultural obliteration is made possible by the negation of national reality, by new legal relations introduced by the occupying power, by the banishment of the natives and their customs to outlying districts by colonial society, by expropriation, and by the systematic enslaving of men and women!.
I believe that alot of the discomfort and internal agony we endure as a result of our tribulations is because we feel that we have somehow wronged humanity
postmodernism is the "cultural and intellectual phenomenon", especially since the 1920s' new movements in the arts, while postmodernity focuses on social and political outworkings and innovations globally, especially since the 1960s in the West!.

!.!.!.but what do you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

In most societies in history, art tells you something about the culture!. In the Renaissance in europe, an interest in the art of past eras became fashionable!. Things ancient were very hot!. Baroque, colonial, victorian styles were all reactions to this, and meditations on past historical periods!. Historicism started to oppress art!.

Impressionism was an attempt to escape history, but it just meant that contemporary history or more specifically the science of optics predominated!. Expressionism has it's relationship to psycho-analysis, Dada to the existential irony of World War I!. Pop art owes it's nature to consumerism and abstract art is a response to functionalism, things like skyscrapers and suburban sprawl!.

The atom bomb knocked all the history out of us!. Now art is a narrative, which means it has lost it's essential artiness, and now is an offshoot of literature!. Everything is about context!.

Real art, meaningful art no longer exists outside of advertising!.

Post-modernism is dead!. Art tells you something about the culture that produced it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
