A leader , by Definition , is one who is designated so by the followers!. A true leader does not call himself a leader!. It is the others who call him so!. A good teacher ( guru) does not call himself a guru !. The followers call him so!.
In these days of self proclaimed leaders ( and gurus) they have to keep up this image to satisfy their ego!. So much so ordinary people like us find it very difficult to understand the real and the imitation!. Take me !. If I read your name as Rita Ph!.D I give more value to that Rita even before I know you!. If it is simply Rita I think you are one among many such Ritas!. Does that 3 letter word ( Ph!.D) make so much difference !? It seems so!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Unfortunately it takes a lot of ego for most to assume leadership!. It also impresses the equally foolish followers - who are usually looking for a "Big Daddy" in the image of how they'd wish to be themselves, so they can avoid personal responsibility!. Seems to me only the wise choose to follow the wise!. And there's not a lot of wisdom around, though it's readily available if one can read and think!. Anyway, new wisdom is always initially heresy, or at least dissent from "received wisdom" in its time!. So it's difficult for the punters to appreciate!. Only fools love titles!. They reassure them in their hidden uncertainty - which is why they usually affect a bucket of hubris (the first sign of folly)!. So we muddle along, supporting idiots and the unsustainable, embracing the intolerable because it accords with our own ignorance and preconceptions!. I reckon religion is the perfect model of it all!. It takes courage to endure!. But one is never alone!. There is good company through centuries!. And we must do what we can!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think some know best to recognize the value of things by looking at the price tag!. and often the price tag is misleading!.

i do think it is the ego that loves title and true leaders don't really care for them!.

if you think about it, the more you would love your title, the more likely it would be that your true feeling is that your title makes you sound greater than you are!. because, if you found yourself greater than your title you would not care for it!. perhaps if you find it prestigious and well deserved and earned!. then you might take pride in it!. but still a title is just a title!. JFK and George Bush were both presidents of the united states!. one is far greater than the other!.
