Question: Are more people scared of the truth!?

it seems like people on YA are either scared of the truth or of opinions!.!.!.!.especially with all the violations people (myself included) get!.

i will admit i get scared of the truth!.!.!.but not when it comes to YA!.!.!.more like when im away from the computer!.!.!.or having to deal with reality, thats when i get scared!.

People live their lives based on thier perception of the world!. If that perception turns out to be wrong, then what have they been living their lives for!? I don't think it's a fear of truth, rather a fear that what they know ISN'T the truth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lots of people are scared not so much of the truth, but of other opinions than their own!.

Lots of people post "questions" here so that they can voice their own opinions (where it won't get them punched in the face), and get confirmation from like-minded individuals!. They're not interested in contrary opinions, no matter how much factual evidence there may be to back this up!. It validates their otherwise meaningless existences!.

You can see this best in the UFO, Moon Landing Conspiracy, LCH, 2012, questions, and heavily in the religious and political forums!. People post their wacky "theories" (most of which don't merit the descriptive term 'theory'), and look for some other moonbat to agree with them, and thumbs-down or report the others!.

Yeah, I've gotten a violation report for pointing out some conspiracy theorist's complete misunderstanding of basic math and physics!.

I'd say that a lot of these people are less afraid of "truth" as they are of "being disagreed with!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your question presupposes the ontology that truth is an existent "thing!." When such a "thing" exists, then people can be afraid of it!. But if we follow in the work of existential movement, we find that "experience" precedes "essence!." In this way, your fearing itself is truth in an odd way!. In the most recent movements in philosophy in the Continental side of things (rather than the Analytical), your question assumes many ideas that have roots in Modernist (Descartes, Hume, Liebniz, etc!.) ontologies and lacks the fragmentation that has occured AFTER that point in the history of philosophy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Truth is a matter of perception!. Know that people get defensive in person and offensive (stemming from the defense) online because the only mode of refute is the written word!.

I think people are just more afraid of the truth in reality then on YA!. In reality the truth can really affect you greatly on how you live your life!. YA are just from other people that you may or may not know!. Just have to learn to be strong on whether you receive and answer in reality or YA!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I do believe most people are frighten of the truth, because they don't know how good the truth really is, and how well it sets them free, however the truth come with risk and like all risk there the issue of being alone in the truth, like most great leaders of the world!.
