Question: What is philosophy to you!? It's meaning, it's purpose, etc!?

Philosophy is an attempt to find the synoptic truth of the cosmos!. Thus a philosopher is someone that crosses from the knowledge of the universe (the sciences) to trying to get to the meaning of the universe and therefore is a rational attempt to find answers to a subject matter that normally only religion attempts to find!. This is true for the philosophers that deny that philosophy is possible, such as: Nietzsche, Rorty, etc!., as much as the philosophers that claim it is possible, since to deny that fundamental truth is possible is to state a fundamental truth!. Some of the greatest fundamental truths are sometimes just pointing out the truth of our limitations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To me, philosophy is about the study and practice of logic, reason, ethics, morals, virtues, love, feelings, relationships, etc of the human condition!. It attempts to debate, analyse and seek the truth and attain the ideals or wisdom of how and why certain attitudes and actions are necessary!. It seeks to determine the standards and norms of any civilized society, so as to attain social peace and harmony, economic prowess and political stability!. It is indeed a powerful tool, an effective means to sustain any progressive society!.

It is also a mode of thinking about any human undertaking, whether it is a hobby, a job or any other pursuit!. Without the development of philosophy these past millenia, our present society would not have rules, laws, Constitutions, etc and there would be chaos everywhere!. If only more people are trained in philosophy and follow its tenets, esp every country's leaders, there would never be corruption, cruelty, wars, etc!. In many circles people say that there should be a passion to follow the philosophy of making more love and peace, rather than creating more invasions and unreasonable wars!. Only then can global peace, economic progress, political stability, racial and religious harmony prevail!. ;-)))Www@QuestionHome@Com

Philosophy is the quest for knowledge, answers and truth!. If you have ever asked a question that science cannot answer, you have asked a philosophical question!. Philosophy covers religion, morals, personal opinion and belief!. It gives us a way to find out what is right and what is wrong, why we are here, what our purpose is etc!. So basically philosophy is the quest for knowledge, the answers to abstract questions, and to answer our moral issues!. I hoped this helped you!Www@QuestionHome@Com
