Question: No!.3 In Religion, Spirituality or in Philosophy, what is your interpretation of the attached Eckhart’s writing!?
Not only "voices and sounds" disrupt the silence that Eckhart has in mind, but concepts, images, and representations:

"!.!.!. the best and most noble thing of all which one can attain in this life is to remain silent and let God work and speak!. Where all powers have removed all their works and images, there is this Word spoken"

Thanks in Advance

I think there is some thingsimilar with teaching about emptiness!. Which means, that none being can exist independently!. That's why hearing or seeing something means, that you limit your perceptions!. And not only limit, but even things which you listen or watch are being understood wrong!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

One can understand the profoundity of the statement if one understands the fundamental principle of silence!. Contrary to the general understanding , Silence is everywhere and it is the noise that is an intrusion on silence!. One does not have to say 'be silent' to be silent!. Silence is!.
With noises all around we struggle to have silence and in the process the finer voices of the creator is totally lost!. The whisper of the breeze is also one such voice!. But we hardly hear it!.That is whay , as you move away and away from the noisy areas you feel closeness to the nature , the creation
