Question: Is it ethical to force people to be smarter!?
Hypothetical situation: You are given a vile with a highly contagious virus that increases that will increase the average infected person's IQ by 20 points!. However the virus will die in vile within minutes if you don't infect yourself and in turn everyone on Earth!. Would you do it!?

Do you have the right to force intelligence on others or is it better to keep the status quo!? What if the virus caused the infected to be violently sick and though not technically fatal will most likely kill many who are already weak!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Value is pretty subjective!. YOU may think being smarter is a good thing, but other people may not agree with you!.

This becomes clear if you think of other kinds of hypothetical viruses!. Vegans might think it grand to prevent everyone on the Earth from eating meat, theists might hope to force everyone to be faithful, and cat-fanciers might approve of everyone growing whiskers, but it probably goes without saying that most of everyone else would find the act tyrannical and heinous!.

Why, then, is it any LESS heinous to force people to do or have whatever it is that you think is good!? That answer is that it's not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

any type of an advancement via viral infection or anything else is unnatural and therefore is a hindrance to the natural biological evolution of man!. Anything that is contagious, even if it is intelligence, is immoral to infect others with if they are not willing participants!. Furthermore, people are smart or dumb for a reason, all should be allowed to progress through life in their natural state!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

20 points- that`s not that much to be worth it!. Besides, the IQ measures a very specific kind of intelligence, that has nothing to do with social, emotional intelligence or an overall mind curiosity for example- things that really matter!. LSD will increase your intelligence in some ways, but I would never force it on anyone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no!.!.!. we wouldn't want that kind of responsibility!.!.!. stupid people seam to have an easier time being happy!.!.!. we could find arguments both ways!.!.!. too bad its all or nothing because some surly would want to do it and others surly wouldn't want to do it!.!.!. damn the majority and their tyranny!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on the ethical theory we apply to the action!.

Egoism(my favorite) would probably support that viruses release, as it would make life longer, and more productive!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
