Question: Does everything get boring by the time you're 60!?
I complained once of being bored, and that things had all lost their appeal when I was like 20, and every older person I complained to said "oh you just wait! you think it's bad now, but by the time you're about 60 EVERYTHING will be boring"

Every older person said this to me, and my 70 something year old grandma said it was soo terrible that she was ready to die! "JUST TRY BEING MY AGE!", she said, "EVERYTHING IS BORING", and she said it had been like that for the longest time (probably since she was 60)

I'm just wondering if this is really true, if it really get's that bad when you're about that old, and if so how bad!? Describe what it's like for EVERYTHING to be boring!.

And also, how boring will life be by age 80, or 100!? will it ever get so bad that you'll want to die even if you think nothing happens when you die!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only if you let it!

I think perhaps one reason that older people find things to be less interesting isn't just that they've been able to experience and learn more (remember, it's not like there's any reasonable limit on the amount of stuff you can experience or learn), but rather because they cling to a world that no longer exists!. I mean, I for one see lots of old people sitting around doing pretty much nothing interesting, while younger people are busy, say, playing computer games, and I think, why don't the old people ever play the computer games!? At best they play Chess or card games, but why not Halo or Age of Empires or at least Civilization!? And the answer is, it's not because they aren't bored!. Rather, it's because they choose not to play those games, they choose not to do the new things!. And that, in turn, is because they are used to a world where these things didn't fit in, a world that ceased to exist decades ago but which they still haven't gotten over yet!. In other words, they're not bored because there's nothing to do, but rather because they have rejected the new things they could be doing to interest themselves in favor of the old things that they've already gotten bored of!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Anyway, i realise now she's kinda right!.
Boredom can be a useful in getting you motivated!.
Think what you usually like doing and if that doesn't appeal to you write a wish list of things you would like to do, see, expereince, listen to or read, tick stuff off as its done and make sure you keep adding to it!.
I promise not to be a bored 60 year old!!
