I don't think just knowing will prevent it, but you can prevent it if it concerns something that happens as a result of your future choices!.

If we already know our future, and we know it's unpleasant, we suffer even before it happens!. If it was something great, it wouldn't be a pleasant surprise anymore, right!?

So, you know, whether you know your future or not, you still would have a hard time preventing it!.
