Thus the theory of reincarnation and recurrence, whereby the soul lives numerous lives (sometimes the same life numerous times) before it is able to be free and live in eternity, independent and strong!. Souls that are very young and in the beginning of development are seen to be scattered and thus the theory of soul mates: that different aspects of one soul are in different people and upon unification will be come stronger and pass to the next 'level'!. However unification does not necessarily mean physical bonding!. It does not even have to be man and woman as a soul is in essence sexless!. In deed soul mates may dislike each other intensely on the level of personality and upbringing and culture however it is precisely those obstacles that they are confronted with that will eventually make them stronger, even if there is no 'happy ending' in human terms!. I used to believe that we only had one per lifetime, but my view on this has changed since my husband divorced me to marry his pregnant girlfriend!. Since that time I've discovered I CAN love again and have met somebody who I believe IS my soul mate!. So if I believed my former husband was my soul mate, but have now met the man I truly believe is my soul mate, what does this say about me and soul mates!? Very confusing!.
