Question: 2 Theological/Philosophical/Hypo… questions!?
Hypothetically, let's say a person was frozen after his/her death in hopes of being "revived!." Fifty years after this individual's demise a scientist finds a way to bring him/her back to life!.

Will this person have a soul in this second life, or is it merely a continuation of their first life!?
With that in mind, the Bible tells us that the soul is removed from the body at death, and since this person did actually cease to exist wouldn't the soul have departed!?

Thereby, this person, who was once made in the image and likeness of God, will now be more like an animal than a human, since animals too have no souls!? With that said would this individual lose out on Salvation!? I

would deducted that if one is without a soul then one is also without free will and the knowledge of right and wrong, correct!?

Second question: Is the soul by nature good!?

If yes, when a person commits a sin, is the soul to blame for the act!? And if it is not to blame, then on Judgement Day, is our soul allowed to go to Heaven and our body to Hell!? Or must they be reunited no matter what!?

And if they must, wouldn't the soul be tried for crimes it never committed!? And if that is the case, wouldn't our arguement that there is a merciful God be weakened!? (I'm only playing the devil's advocate, I believe God's mercy)

Or is the word soul a mere synonym for conscience, and therefore it is to blame for our sinful acts!? I know I'm rambling, and I know you're busy, so forgive me!. I was just wondering!.

Please be nice!. Nobody seems to want to answer this question!. My own bishop even blew me off!Www@QuestionHome@Com

lol everyone wrote a book! so ima be different and keep mine short:

1!. The answer is unknown to this one and wont be for a long time!. the only way to know is actually wake em up!. what we dont know is if once you die does your brain hit the "reset button" cause then yes their "soul" would also be restarted!. since its a thought our souls have come from our brains right!? but if once your cured of death i guess, your brain might wake up and you could just continue being you!.
2!.its a synonym for conscience!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Every one got souls!. and i don't understand ur 1st question !. Can u explain it simply!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

i believe mind body and spirit are One so I cannot comment on your questions about soul as a separate transient entity , but I do think it worthwhile telling you that i think everything by nature is good, if it is not - it will not endure; as it does not mimic the absolute universal pattern of quality - which is 'the One'!.

good casues everything!.

Originally the question of the soul was stolen by modern day christianity from something called the mithras cults!.
So, first of all, from the present point of mind, bringing a person back after they died is impossible!. mainly because our body boosts an active defense system against rotting, which in case of death just shuts of, and lets us rot from the thousands of bacterias we have on our body!.
So, in conclusion, it would only be possible to slow the bodily functions of a person, including decay and such, down to a point where the rate of decay goes over the rate of a human live!.
So, if after that, a person would be brought out of that cryogenic freeze, he would obviously, if such a concept exists, still have his first soul, because he was not really dead!.
If you however insist on the person being dead before, then we would have the classic "scientists taw a fscking corpse and utterly fail to bring it back to life" theorem, because, as the bible states, a body cannot live without soul!.
So, basically, from my point, if you plan on doing that, it would be wise to either be an atheist, or denounce christianity shortly before the process!. Otherwise, only nonchristians would be able to get untawed!.
ok, for the second part, we have to specify!. let's assume that the soul is present, and not a symbol of our church who abuses the teachings of a holy man for having a life in sin full ways, and costing and robbing the simple man!.
if we do have a soul, and it functions as stated, it would surely be in companion with the body, no matter what you think!. because our soul, as the reference book states, lives inside of us!. So, basically, as we all have the natural sin, we all would go down in hell, before being raised to the heavens!. again, if you are so afraid of your own religion, I would suggest to shortly before death change to a religion in which a pleasant afterlife awaits you no matter what!.
also, I would advise you to research the counsel of nNicaea and research what changes to christianity the holy catholic church made there, and how they affect your questions!.
May your days on this earth be without any sorrows!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The second question: Is the soul inherintly good!? I don't think so!. I think we're all born to do wrong, although i believe God intended us to be good!. He also wanted us to have the will to choose (or not to choose) to have that relationship and unfortunately we are all born into a world and a self-nature that is defective from choosing against God!.

Romans 7:14-20
14We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin!. 15I do not understand what I do!. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do!. 16And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good!. 17As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me!. 18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature!. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out!. 19For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing!. 20Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it!.

This is Paul we're talking about here!.!.!. an incredible example of willingly following God!. Yet even he recognises the sinful nature that is warring in his soul against the desire to do what he knows is right!. I think when he talks about his 'sinful nature' i think he's talking about the struggle of turning his soul away from the God-lessness that his soul (and all of ours if we accept Jesus into our lives) is so used to living in!.

He goes on!.!.!. Romans 7:21-25

21So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me!. 22For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members!. 24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death!? 25Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin!.

I think what Paul is getting at in this last sentence is the dichotomy in his soul!. He, and we, were living as slaves under the consequences and control of the desire to sin!. When we are set free, through salvation, we still struggle not to go back to our old ways!.!.!. we are kind of like drug addicts that way!.

The first question: what about the soul of someone who is in stasis or cryogenic death for a long period of death!?

I don't think we quite understand the reality of what happens to the soul after death!. What about Abraham or Samuel!.!.!. are their souls waiting somewhere until the rest of us have lived (ie the end of the world)!? I don't think so!. I don't agree with the concept of purgatory!.

It boggles my mind, but i think time ceases to exist after death!. Time, i think, is something that binds our bodies but not our souls!. Someone who experiences cryogenic death may simply 'fall asleep' at one time and 'wake up' without conciously feeling any recognisable passage of time, kind of like blinking your eyes!. "Nobody seems to want to answer this question!. My own bishop even blew me off!"

Well, there's a clue right there! I wish he would just come out and tell you that the idea of the soul is made up!. There is no soul! Everything about your self: Your personality, your "mind", your consciousness, your dreams, your "soul", your "conscience" (and yes I think they are almost exact synonyms) is contained in your physical body, specifically your brain!. If they brought you back after death, your soul would be pretty much the same, depending on whether you had taken any material damage in the freezing process!. And if they gave you someone else's brain, you would have their soul!. You should read science fiction!. There's lots of stuff about re-animation there!.

BTW, in case you are thinking about it, I should tell you that the trick with re-animation is the Cryogenics!.!.!.the freezing part!. I'm sure if they can thaw people out they can fix their diseases in the future, but 99!.99% probability is that in 3000 or whatever, they will find that you weren't frozen right the first time! So, you end up as mush anyway!

The soul is the spiritual essence of a person!. It's kind of like a book!. If the book is filled with beautiful, loving stuff, then is it a good book!? If it's filled with hateful, destructive stuff, is it a bad book!? Or is it just a book, neither good nor bad, and not responsible for what is written in it!? (This is just metaphorically speaking; for someone who doesn't read the language in which the book is written, it's neither!. So is the book still good or bad!?) If a bad book is broken down and made into recycled paper, then used to make another book with peaceful, loving ideas, does it then become a good book!?

Conscience is not the same as soul!. Conscience is a tool for helping determine the nature of an action!.

Anyhow, the body doesn't go to hell or heaven!. Heaven and hell are spiritual concepts!. Consider: a person dies, the body is buried, the body decomposes, becomes part of the soil, vegetables are planted in the soil, vegetables take up the nutrients from that soil, someone else eats the vegetables!.!.!. so are the molecules that used to make up the earlier person still his, or do they now belong to the later person who ate those vegetables!? And we are all ultimately composed of matter that previously was used by other people, whether human, animal, or whatever!. So the idea that a physical body goes to heaven or hell doesn't hold up logically!.
The concept of salvation and only one incarnation!.!.!. well, think about it!. If, as you said, the person died, and if the soul doesn't return to the body, then it goes on to whatever is next for it!. It don't matter whether the body is reanimated or not!. It's already gone where it's supposed to go!.
About the bible saying the soul goes one place or another:
1) it doesn't say it doesn't come back
2) don't believe everything you read!.

Of course God is merciful!. That's why he keeps bring us back again and again until we get it right!. What kind of mercy is there in only having one chance!?

About right and wrong and a soul: if, as you postulate, animals do not have a soul, then how can they know right from wrong!? Don't mother animals, for example, know that it is right to care for their young!? And please don't just say "it's instinct", because then the same can apply to humans!. Either we all have a soul, or none of us do!. Whatever you can claim for humans, animals have it too to some extent!. It's just a matter of degree!. And I can tell you for sure that animals have free will!. My dogs *definitely* have free will to decide whether or not to do what I tell them!.

I don't think it's that nobody wants to answer your question, but more that it is not only one question!. They are interesting concepts that you bring up, but a bit too much to cover in one go! Www@QuestionHome@Com
