the construction is purely that but the template from which they are constucted is the same universal quality that caused humans to evolve into soical beings the first place!.

if other human colonies exist elsewhere i imagine they have some form of socialisation which will neede stratified managements of that social interaction such as having rightsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I would say that in the absence of humans, human rights cannot exist!. So whether they are a purely human construct will depend on your view of humans: do we have a solely material existence, or do we also have an immaterial immortal soul!?

If we are purely material, then it seems to me that human rights are a construct of our material brains!. If we have a separate human soul, then human rights might exist as an eternal ideal regardless of whether they are proclaimed by our physical selves!.

For me, it is enough to say that since humans have the capacity for moral choice, we have intrinsic moral value, and, therefore, are deserving of human rights!. It is not necessary that human rights are preexisting, nor are they arbitrary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Human rights are a mechanism for milking the legal systems of the Western world of vast sums of money by word-wrangling lawyers!.

The original concept (which included responsibilities as well) is mostly lost in the shrill squealing of the legal snouts at the trough!.

You only have to look at what is happening in the UK to reduce yourself to tears or laughter, depending on your veiwpoint!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That depends if you consider morality to be an absolute concept dictated by God or wether you realise that it's simply a matter of societal norms!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
