Because we are so imbued with nationalism and trained to re-act that way!. The schools, the media, our social circles - all breathe down our necks to defend the honor of our country no matter what!.

From childhood till we are all grownups, this behavior has been so ingrained with us that we have no choice!.

No, that is not entirely true!. We have a choice!. We can dispel all these notions and look at the Earth as one, big carnival!. And that we are all children of many races playing!.

If we look at ourselves with a little more humor and forgiveness, everything becomes bearable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because it includes your friends and family!.
Because we feel socially justified in feeling hurt!.
Because it's difficult to rebuff!.
Because it tears at the fabric of society!.
Because it means that the person making the innuendo/insult is ignorant and stupid and stubborn!. (have you ever noticed that the most stubborn people are the most stupid!?)

It probably is just your nature!. As each one of us have our "soft spot", the racist insult is your Achilles Heel!. You can either fortify your armor or just turn over to heal your wounds!. Because you refuse to accept your racial Identity in full!. You are very defense about it!. You need to realize that everyone has warts and there is nothing wrong with it!. You just laugh and go on!. I think this is because it speaks with insult to a people group who share the essence of all who are you - where you"began" - in terms that are unable to be reasoned with; it strikes at the ancestral core with a devastating blow!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
