It depends on the context!.

Generally, I would say that "No" is stronger than "Yes", because "No" is a disruptor!. "Yes" is an open gate on the path that your momentum is already taking you down!. "No" is a barred gate that stops you cold!. It requires far more effort to find another way around, but this gives you the opportunity for innovation and growth!.

In one sense, I believe they are of equal strength, because both indicate a commitment, albeit with different results!.

In another sense, neither "yes" nor "no" are as powerful as "maybe" because there is an entire universe between complete affirmation on one hand and complete negation on the other hand!. For those who fear committing to affirm or negate, using "maybe" or "probably" allows them to refuse to commit!.

Yes is for acceptance of something!.No is for denial of something but yet not the acceptance of its opposite/antipode!.
Anti and pro(yes) are of same strength!.No is weaker and thus a more frequently correct answer!.
If someone a green object and that someone doesn't like green it's an unsuccessful gift!.But if that someone likes red then it might be considered an offense!.
If you are constructing something that should increase a speaker's output 10 times and when you test it the output is decreased 10 times then it's easy - you should build just the opposite ( anti )!.

It depends on context!. Yes and No are of equal strength when they're an answer to a truth value question!. Example: Is it raining!? The truth of the question boils down to either Yes or No!. One is true and one is not but it's all decided by context!.

But "NO" gets the upper hand when we are dealing future events!. Example: Will you help in the morning!? If I say "Yes" my yes is actually depend it on my future behavior,which I may not live up to!. Of course, I may change my mind on a "NO" answer but in general "NO" is a firmer commitment since I've had no commitment except not to do something!.

It most certainly does depend on the question being asked!. Though I do believe they are equally strong in opposite ways!.

It is circumstantial!.
In any given situation No could have a much stronge rimpact than Yes and vice versa!.
Take a vote on TV, Yes or No might not be all that important for "Did you watch our last batch of commercials" Poll!.!.!.
But for a marriage proposal, Yes or No can be a rather significant word!.
