Question: About to enter the world of Nietzsche!?
I read Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil in an intro philosophy course, but that was so long ago!. After reading Irvin Yalom's fictional novel "When Nietzsche Wept," my interest in Nietzsche's work has deepened!. I've ordered his major and minor works and am preparing to dig into his special brand of philosophy!.

My question is: from those of you who have read Nietzsche, any words of advice to a beginner!? Things to avoid, pay close attention to, not take out of context, etc!.!? Thank you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

He is extremely pretentious and venomous!. Most of his work are entertaining enough, but are simply acts of spitting venom than anything substantial!. My favorite work of his is "The Twilight of the Idols!."

Edit:

If you are interested in philosophy and would like an eloquent contrast to Nietzsche, read Soren Kierkegaard's work!. Kierkegaard's "Eithor/Or" is magnificent and I still quote from it, "What if nothing was as it seems!? What if laughter were really tears!?"Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nietzsche still lives!. My knowledge and skill in philosophy is even beyond Nietzsche!. Though I am too lazy to read Nietzsche, I know his ideas by heart!.

All I can say is that nihilism, existentialism, and a few other ideas are the absolute truth of the world!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
