I had the head of the department for a class and when I wrote a paper called "The Importance of the Number One" he couldn't tell if I was brilliant or being sarcastic and he said he would give me an A if I promised to never take another course in Philosophy and Religion!. In 24 years I have never broken my promise!. So you could say I am a rank amateur if you want to feel superior, but I do know a thing or two and I do answer sincerely from what I know!. My background in science (biochemistry) has drawn me to philosopher's such as Aristotle because of their belief in the supreme importance of objective thought and logic!. However, philosophy is actually an inescapable area of study for anyone alive and cognizant!. By definition, philosophy deals specifically with how man interacts with reality!. Thus, unlike subjects such as astronomy and astrophysics, which we can go through our entire life and never have to deal with, philosophy is something that each and every human must come to terms with in order to survive on earth!.
