Question: Doesn't Philosophy seem like a twisted English class, where you just argue over the meanings of words!.!?
Plato discusses what is wisdom, what is morality!. He talks about what is holy and what learning is!. All these guys do is argue about definitions of words!. I was interested at first, but now it is really dull and somewhat pointless to me!. Couldn't these guys have been doing something more productive, instead of sitting around trying to define words!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I totally agree with it seeming pretty connected to language arts!. It's why I think it should be in the humanities because it has historical and linguistic interpretation!.

I also think that your interest may have been tapped in language arts, because in English we do look at literature and ask questions like "What is truth" or discuss "the human condition!." Some philosophers such as Nietcshe and Camus even used the novel to get their thoughts out!. (Which that's sort of artful and again humanities related!.)

Can it be boring!.!.!.heck yes!. Which might be why some of them used the novel and metaphor to make us understand!. Humans like stories!.
But your question about productive!. Philosophical in and of itself!. Is human existence about producing!? Is it necessary to have end results!? Isn't reflection important!? (Unexamined life not worth living!?) Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree, it seems that many people wind up getting tangled into the details of words!. But then again, sometimes philosophy questions are poorly written or actually, not even real philosophy questions!.!.!.!.!.!.
And, philosophy can sometimes be very personal and as individuals, we derive different thoughts, feelings or ideas from certain questions, issues or platforms!.

I try to be extremely choosey in what philosophy questions I respond to in Yahoo Answers!. Not because of being judgemental as much as trying to select questions that really interest me or I feel are exceptionally thought-provoking!. But, that's according to me and what I think and find enjoyable!. It's not the same for others!. I think that's part of what I like about philosophy in general!.

lol!. if a meaningful definition of justice and morality isnt defined then maybe you'd be sitting in prison right now getting cornhauled because you looked at an authority the wrong way, rather than sitting at your computer at home in ur jammies or whatever the hell you're wearing!.

you should think more about the importance of what you're learning Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yah, I feel the same way!. Does it really matter if people are born good or bad!? You should just aim to be the best you can be, instead of wasting your time arguing over ideas!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are wright, but there is an underlying truth that is not expressed in words!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

haha, yes, but as humans we're a curious race!.!.!.and pretty vain at times, too!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
