The ship wrecks and you are all stranded on an island!. There is limited food, so you make a law that anyone caught stealing food would be hanged!. Three men are caught stealing food - as you prepare them to be hanged, you see a ship on the horizon!.!.!.it is clear that the ship has spotted you and you all will be rescued!.!.!.do you go ahead and hang the thieves!.!.or not!.!.!.and why!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

If we were going to be rescued we would have no need to have this rule on the island because we would soon be off the island!. It is out of our control now, the ship is going to take us off the island now and what would they do when they came to rescue us and they saw three dead men!? Www@QuestionHome@Com yes, because the crime wasn't so much stealing as it was risking the lives of the people on the island!. These men were willing to risk the survival of there fellow man to satisfy there hunger and agreed on a death sentence for that crime!. But on a second notion you could leave them on the island with the rest of the food they so selfishly desired and i would consider that a just punishment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com i would not have made that law anyway!. the first thing, is i would have divided up the food and given each person their share!. i would have made it clear that that is all they would get!. if others stole food, i would have made everyone else sit in a circle around them, and just stare at them, possibly while eating their food!.!.!. then, i would make them hunters!. i would teach them how to hunt and what is edible, and then make them go and hunt and give every body food!. if that was not possible, then, no, i wouldnt have hung them, no matter what!. if a ship was coming, then i would have been weary of them, but i would not kill them!. my morals and ethics are too strong in me to allow me to do that!. unless our lives were actually in danger!. if they had tried to kill me or someone else, then, i would have, but otherwise, i would have just been more careful around them!. anyway, i hope you have a wonderful day!!! -AngelWww@QuestionHome@Com I sure hope I never get into such a situation!. However, I will not hang them!. The reason is that there is a possibility of me making the wrong choice in either choice I make so I would rather be wrong in letting them live than be wrong in killing them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com since when do criminals follow rules!? think about it!.!.!.!. and if we are rescued, won't we go back to jail!? so it's jail or the island!.!.!.!.i'm guessing most people will still on the island and be free!.!.!.which means!.!.!."let the hanging commence"Www@QuestionHome@Com well i would belay the order to hang them to make sure we r going to b rescued and once it was blatantly obvious we were id let them go for there wouldn't be food shortage so why hang them for somthing that isn't a problem anymore Www@QuestionHome@Com No!.
