Why do atheists make fun of christians so much!?

Why do they criticize them for being deluded, dependant, narrow-minded fools who cannot comprehend the origins of the universe and refuse to accept the true depth to the coming of being of our universe and rather explain it as having been created by a simplistic magical sky fairy!?

Why are atheists angered by the deceptiveness of religion and how christians recognize the church as a source of salvation instead of a business!?

Why do they try so hard to explain to theists that christianity is just a deceiving bureaucracy that traps all who enter and gates all inside by the fear of hell!?

Your generalising, i'm an atheist but I would never attack or insult someone because of there beliefs!.

I respect all beliefs, we just cannot understand why fundamentalists reject accepted scientific data and knowledge and insist on taking the Bible literally!. God and science are perfectly compatible in my view!. God created the world and science explains how!. It seems narrow minded to us to reject commonly accepted facts just because the bible disagrees!. I am an atheist but I would never make fun or insult someone because of their beliefs!. I would say to someone who believes in creationism or refuses to accept evolution to be more open minded though!.

Atheists are also angered by constantly being told to repent and that we are going to a hell we don't believe in if we don't!. Being made to feel like criminals or sinners though we aren't bad people (on the whole)!. No one knows what happens after death and if we've lived a good life then if there is a kind and loving God why would they punish us for not believing in them!?

Because Christians are one of the most obnoxious groups on this planet!. Imagine the world from our position and you will readily see why!. It's not that we "just don't get it" and have fallen off of some imaginary path!. WE GET IT, probably a lot better than you!. We don't want it, whatever it is you have!. And god, I hope it's not contagious (though it seems to be)!.

It's not a source of salvation because we don't believe in salvation!. There is nothing to save us from!. End of story!.

I honestly (and I absolutely do mean this) believe that Christianity is a mental illness, akin to schizophrenia!. The best we can do (and you are right to point out our meanness, it is a problem sometimes) is to treat you like the sick creatures you are, kindly and with empathy for your condition!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not angered by religion!. I admire how people can believe, it gives me hope!. (I am atheistish) and I don't try to explain myself!. I don't expect people with religion to explain themselves either!. I feel if you truly believe something, no one should call on you to explain yourself!. I also don't believe the part of fear of hell!. The religous people I know don't seem scared, they seem happy by the idea of a God and heaven!. I don't think their narrow-minded!. Most atheist believe that they are smarter than all religious people!. The tend to demean religious people to boost their ego, as if they are superior in intellect!. It is the smart man who thinks he knows it all, when in truth he knows nothing!. Another reason is frustration!. Religious people continually use force to make people abide by their views!. I am not an atheist!. But my guess is that they are not all so mean!. Just like I guess that all Christians are not right wing fundementalists who use eternal damnation as the threat to those who differ from them!.

Unfortunately, those who make the most noise become our stereotypes!. They make waves!.

Fear!.
That's the main reason anyone is mean!. They fear you or your faith!.
It goes for any human being who is mean, they have a fear of what they are treating so meanly!.
Not all atheists are mean!. Most of them are simply lost and don't care to ridicule others for their beliefs but here on a public forum!? Well heck there is an "anonymity" that allows their true colours to flash before your eyes!. That's the mean ones!. The ones who are really mean in heart and soul from fears they cannot or will not contain!.
Remember, not all atheists are mean!. We Christians on this site are exposed to the ones who are frightened by the truth and lash out at those of us who have the truth!. But still !.!.!. you have to remember that literally thousands of atheists are on these sites and a majority of them pass over these religious or spiritual questions!. They don't feel a need to curse or suppress!. You and I are simply stuck with those few who are mean!.
Forget and forgive, remember the Christs words about our enemies and remember what He said about those who would abuse us in His name and because of His name!.
