A real-life example from my own life: how to tell a friend to leave her abusive boyfriend, knowing that it could end the friendship!.
In the end her safety was important to me, so I said what was on my mind!. I told her how worried I was and why!. She got so angry she insulted me, threatened me, and said a racial slur about my husband!.
I ended the friendship right there!.
But I don't regret it!. I did the right thing, I tried to help, and if she's going to act like that she can go do what she wants and deal with the consequences!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ok - here's one: Should I do my own thinking and research and come up with an ethical dilemma from real life for my homework!? or should I cheat on my homework and ask someone to create a dilemma for me (instead of doing my own work)!?

Solving an ethical dilemma depends on your ethical ideology - are you an ethical egoist!? a utilitarian!? Moreover, perhaps if you did your own research and thinking, you'd learn something valuable that would stay with you because you took the time to do it yourself!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The lifeboat dilemma was probably the most popular instance of this subject back in the 60's and 70's!.

You are afloat in a lifeboat with too many people during a storm and you have a gun and plenty of ammo!. You must choose between the following:

A ) wait for the storm to drown everyone!.
B ) kill yourself to avoid the decision!.
C ) kill everyone before the storm arrives!.
D ) kill some to save some before the storm arrives!.

The last option was always pretty much the entire point of the topic!. Is it better to die or to live with the consequences of decision!?

This dilemma is just an elaborate version of Hamlet's "To be or not to be!?" philosophical question!.

You on the other hand, could loose your position as a judge because of the powerful influence of these activists your community!. What do you do!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

You could use Heinz's dilemma!. It is a really famous dilemma!. A man's wife has a terminal illness!. A pharmacist has a medicinal cure but the the man cannot afford the medicine!. The man must decide between breaking the law and breaking into the pharmacy to steal the medicine and cure his wife or obeying the law and seeing his wife die!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its your moms birthday and she wants you to come to her house for dinner but its also your best friends birthday and you promised him/her that you would go for his/her birthday but you also told your mom you would go because you totally forgot you had 2 birthdays in one day and both people are manic depressive and will ride upon a big depression if you dont go and both may jump off the roof if you cancel and you cant be with both at the same time cause your mom hates your friend!.

and it can be solved by not going to none birthday parties and make yourself sick or something so you go to the hospital and people you love forgive you
