Because it attempts to explain the common and the ordinary!. Your first thought is that should be simple but it never is!. There is an old saying: that who ever discovered water it wasn't a fish!. The lesson of the story is a very simple truth: we don't generally understand that which is always assumed!. A fish always assumes the water that it swims in, we assume the facts of our existence but on a conscious level when we need to explain those facts it gets very hard!. We know we know things but how is that possible!? We know the meaning of words but what really are words!? We know when something is true but what is truth exactly!? Philosophy is an attempt to understand the common and the ordinary and then to come to a synoptic (whole) understanding of the cosmos!. It will always confuse some, if not most, but for some it will bring enlightenment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's a great point!. Philosophy can bring more confusion if it has no real basis in the Father of all philosophies!.!.!. "Know Thyself!." Socrates!.

And Philosophy is abstract because the mind is the realm of abstractions!.

But you are making an excellent point!. There needs to be an end game, and Socrates knew what it was!. This will explain "know thyself" in western terms!. http://gospelengima!.com That story is about the "Great I Am" which is about Know Thyself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

got metaphysics!? When one has abstract notion of reality and has no way of proving that notion (epistemology), abstraction and confusion is the only result!.
No ethics can be named, nor any political stance and no aesthetic can be seen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

because !.!.!.!.!. something inside you!.!. is smarter than you!!
