My right foot first!.!.!.one must trust in ones own self before relying on the next!. My country means a lot but what is my country!.!.!.my country is not a piece of land or a political group, my country is my kinsman!.!.!.my neighbors!.!.!.the men and women that make up any great nation!. Country is just another word for collective!.
Belief is just another word for self!.

This question and any answers to it are proof that the individual comes first - otherwise how does this question get answered to begin with!?

Each individual decides their own beliefs, including the belief of whether collective or self should come first!.

The concept of country is very similar to the concept of God!. You are introduced to God by someone , parents , partner , friends or simply people whom you adore and respect!. You see your God through them !.
Our country is also like that !. !. We know whee we are standing is our own country , our motherland!.!. But our love and liking for our country is based on the value systems we have looking at the people we know!. As an Indian one will see Gandhi as the reference point !. Mandela for a southafrican!. Loncoln for the Americans!. But there unfortunately many many countries where its people will not identify with their soil!. This is due to tyranny, oppression and immorality, Such people cannot put country first!.

History also tells us important lessons !. Vietnam was a country driven by its people due to their love for their counry!. China is greated motivated country!.
Finally, belief system can undergo changes !. But not the country!. It is eternal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, ur beliefs are related to the place where u live , like I'm an INDIAN, so i believe in the institution of marriage, family bonding(joint family) , and other such common social beliefs(not the evil ones)
so beliefs are coined according to the place where u reside , therefore COUNTRY FIRST!. coz if i wouldn't have been an Indian , may be my beliefs wouldn't have been the same!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not all the time but religion,culture remains 2-3 generation effective!.I always try to take best knowledge available from every country & try to improve myself!.Initially i was following worshiping God now I learnt meditation from Hinu & Budha & trying!.I have visited more than 10 countries & worked with more then 25 nationalities so I accept whatever good thing they have!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I put my beliefs above all else!. That is the only way to avoid hypocrisy and to be true to myself!.
