A democratic society but with a totally different electoral system than the one we have at the moment!. Voting for your local MP should be totally separate from deciding who leads the country overall!. I'm not sure if it would be workable but I'd also like to see Health Secretary, Chancellor etc all voted for separately too!. I'd be happy with just a bit more proportional representation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It almost sounds from your question that there are only two possibilities which is of course absurd!. Both of these options are flawed!. True democracy doesn't really exist at a parliamentary level!. Currently within the UK we realistically have a choice of two parties (at a push three but rarely within the same seat)!. All three major parties have more or less the same basic ideologies and are separated only by minor detail!. So come parliamentary election the voters have no real choice - along the lines of Henry Ford offering any colour as long it is black!. That coupled with the fact that you have to vote for an array of policies regardless of whether you agree with them means that the whole notion of democracy is tenuous at best!. Whether true democracy is not even desirable anyway is debatable!. The inherent problem with any democracy is that it is "fundamentally" anti-minority!.

The problem with Communism (or for that matter any totalitarianism) is the desire for power to reside centrally!. Within such governments there is little room for individual autonomy and the ability to respond to changes in the world economy is slow!. Communism is idealized by the young, however, today's definition is rather more bleak!. Democracy doesn't exist, our leaders are placed into position by creatures way above politics!. Think about it, it must be simple to cheat the electoral system!. And those computerized systems they have in the US are beyond a joke!. I'm afraid we're stuck with capitalism, with all its genocides, starvations, conflicts, suffering, wars, inequalities and lies!.
