Why don't some people believe in ghosts and aliens?

Question: Why don't some people believe in ghosts and aliens!?

religious reasons aside, i don't understand how someone could possibly believe that there are no ghosts or aliens!. although, i've never seen an alien, the universe is so enormous that its literally impossible to comprehend how huge it is!. of all the planets and galaxy's why would earth be the only planet to hold life!?
and i've never seen a ghost personally, but i've seen ghosts throw things around a room!. things that would be impossible to move on their own!. and at times when others were with me and ghost threw things around, some others simply said "ghosts don't exist" while ignoring the fact that its physically impossible for an inanimate object to randomly throw itself across a room!.
what is the mental block that keeps people from seeing that sometimes nearly anything can be possible!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that the reason why people don't believe in them is also the reason why some do!. There are so many possibilities that these can actually be true but also possibilities that these aren't!. And for the ghost example, some will just look for other reasons for that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You need to understand the difference between, for example, accepting the possibility of alien life and actually believing in aliens without any physical proof!. As in any other context, belief in aliens requires evidence!.
The same goes for anything supernatural, of course!. You may have had experiences you think are only explainable by suggesting that ghosts were responsible but that does not constitute definitive evidence!.!.!.it's all subjective, dependent on your eye witness account!.

it's not physically impossible for an object to throw itself across a room, just so incredibly improbable that there's no point in worrying about it!.

If you can videotape something throwing itself across the room and show evidence that there is no other physical explanation for it, do you realize how much money you could make!?

Most people have a hard time believing in themselves!.!.!.!.how much harder is it to believe in something unseen!. The probability of life somewhere else in the universe can be looked at in several perspectives, one, our little blue and green planet is one of a kind!.!.!.!.as far as we can tell!. And two!.!.!.what the hell do we know!? I feel all life is connected in some form, be it human, plant, alien or otherwise!. i don't believe in it myself, but who's to say!.!. just because one person has never seen ghosts doesn't mean there isn't any!. As for aliens you hear so many stories about aliens!. I think if you really believe in both these two ghost and aliens then u should study about them and maybe that mental block will be removed and you'll see either one of them!. It's hard to say there is no such thing because so many people say they've seen both!. I think non-believer is the mental block!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I wonder that too!. I have had two ghost experiences in my lifetime and share my story to everyone but they still don't believe!. Aliens I understand that too!. I've heard many stories and seen many videos!. On youtube there are several ghost and alien videos that clearly could not have been edited!. Some people believe different things!. But like you said this world is so huge and there's so many strange things happening that it's impossible not to be true!. also, if ghosts weren't real than what are these people who are mediums doing to make all of there money!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

i believe that there are definitely aliens out there, but the only ghosts that exist in this world are simply living creatures possessing cloaking/invisibility technology so that they can't be seen easily!. Only when invisibility camouflage is developed and being used by our military or whomever, can ghosts be said to exist on planet earth!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should rephrase to "Why don't most people believe in ghosts and aliens!?"!. Whilst most people will accept the view that they could be life on other planets, - 180 of them (according to scientists), only 80 of them will contain intelligent life!. Its extremely unlikely aliens visit us however!.!.!.

I saw a "scientist" in a documentary last week who was repeatedly saying that if there was a Sasquatch type creature, there would be people sighting it!. Then there were people who had for decades insisted that they had once seen such a beast, taking lie detector tests, proving that they were not lying, could be mistaken of course, but not lying!. Then there was the same scientist saying that he believed folks who believed they had sighted a Sasquatch type beast all over the world, from culture to culture, from century to century, were living evidence that humans WANT to believe and therefore invent the Sasquatch!. Now, stay with me!. It has always seemed obvious to me, soooooo obvious, that humans really really want to accept the known and explainable and deny the unknown and unexplanable, so if anything, the sightings and lie detector results were the exact opposite of what this scientist was spouting!. This scientist was living proof that those who must must have a logical explanation, he being at the farthest end of the spectrum, will deny ANY evidence, right down to a Sasquatch shaking him by the throat, classic denial!. It seems that what humans, across the board, have always sought, was explanation for phenomena!. From the caveman explaining an eclipse to the Greeks describing the sky as a solid object with millions of tiny holes poked in it, right to today, we try to explain, given what we know, what we suspect, and what we hypothesize!. The less we know, the more we must hypothesize and the farther from reality the hypotheses can become!. Those who truly have little real learning are more likely to develop pseudoscience, a set of fantasy laws of nature, based upon an invented vocabulary, based on fantasy and idle speculation, only to be refuted when something tangible can be demonstrated!. Meanwhile, we really do have phenomena which are unexplainable!. Just plain unexplainable, given that we have no genuine demonstrable set of occurrances that we can produce to set a cause and effect relationship!. Explanations that involve invented and non-demonstrable chains of events are not explanations!. They are speculations, not at all the same thing!. However, that doesn't mean that unexplainable events don't happen!. The hypothese that develop from pseudoscience may turn out to be as far fetched as the model of a universe shell with stars being points of light entering through the pinpoint holes!. Some of them may be correct!. Until we know anything for sure, all the potential explanations have about an equal chance of correctness!.

I never doubted visitors from elsewhere, never saw any, drove some millions of miles without ever having seen anything unexplainable, until 2 years ago!. I still have no doubt, but also, still have no explanation, and may never see another unexplainable thing again, but there you have it!. It ain't simple!. But, I always believed there were things that were probably non-Earth originating, whether having seen any or not!. Maybe if I didn't believe already, I would find some phony baloney bogus excuse for what I really really saw!. But that still doesn't mean I can explain it or invent some set of events that explain it!.
