I don't know whether this is a personal question or a general question on Philosophy!.

My personal beliefs are that Religion and love act as a shield for one's soul!. The reason for that being is that it acts as a euphoric substance for the meek and mourning, rather than allowing one to take a look on reality!. As Karl Marx would put it: "It is the heart in a heartless society!. It is the sigh of the oppressed creature!. Religion is opium for the people"!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

1 the great indian philosopher adi shankracharya had given a very logical answer to your question,he had said" how it can be possible that metaphysical things like soul can have logical explanation!. these things are beyond our mental and physical perception!.
no one knows of what material soul is made up of!.

2 the biggest question arise,the population of world is increasing,at the time of jesus christ,it was 300 million now it is billions from where the new souls come,who made these souls!?

3 according to indian athiest school carvaka,perception is the only reality,and mattar is the only reality,our human body is made of 4 elements 1 air,water,earth and fire,they rejected sky as we cannot perciveve it and when human die,his body mix with these 4 elements!.
there is nothing like soul inside our body!.

1 as we left old clothes and wear new clothes,in the same way,our soul left the old body and take the new body!.
2 weapons cannont cut the soul!.
3 fire cannot burn the soul!.
4 water cannot make soul wet!.
soul is immortal!.

whatever,there is not any evidence of anything like soul in our body but there are few cases 4 years before a man is going to die in delhi,his body is kept in a locked jar of glass,and when he die,jar breake up at once!.many says his soul come out of body!.
as i say we cant say anything about soul,human beings cant able to give any logical evidence for these things,they can only give arguments!.
