Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I think your question assumes the basic premise that deep equals serious, as in having a serious attitude!. Thinking deeply means to think on the basic and/or fundamental issues of our time and all times in such away that one is looking for the wider synoptic truth!. If a thinker thinks deeply and sees that there is mirth and happiness possible in the world why wouldn't they laugh!?Www@QuestionHome@Com If this is a serious question, then let me answer seriously on what I read from a very knowledgeable historical figure, a wise intellect: "If people knew what was in store for them, they would cry!." "Wise people cry at their weakness and are deep in thought" or something to that effect!. Another more recent philosopher, I think, has said: "Wise people laugh from the bottom of their hearts" or something similar!. On a more personal opinion, I think deep thinkers have stages!. The lower stage is more keen on talking!. The medium stage is more keen on listening!. The higher stage is more keen on thinking in silence!. Therefore, I think very wise people are silent!. If they laugh, it's rather a bitter laugh and if they cry, it's more like singing - because it is comforting!. It is also a symbol of true knowledge because it represents humility and self-understanding!. PS!. By crying, I do not mean shallow crying like a baby!.
